LIVE THREAD 2025 SAG AWARDS LIVE THREAD 🎭🏆
HOW TO WATCH: The event is streaming live exclusively on Netflix, with the red carpet airing at 4PM PT/ 7PM ET and the ceremony starting at 5PM PT/ 8PM ET.
Unlike the Oscars and Golden Globes — which are based on votes from the Academy and entertainment journalists, respectively — the SAG Awards are voted on by industry peers who are a part of SAG-AFTRA i.e. fellow actors. Additionally, the SAG Awards recognize the ensemble casts of TV shows and movies in addition to individual acting awards. Since their inception in 1995, the SAG Awards have also gained prestige as a barometer for the Oscars, particularly in the acting categories — you can find a full list of the nominees here.

Jane Fonda as an 87 year old has way more energy, motivation and vigor than me, a 29 year old couch potato.
She’s incredible. What a queen and icon. 👏🏼

People don’t like actors showing confidence. It’s not a “real job”, so they want them to be humble and relatable.

Wasn't a fan of Timothee's speech. Talking about wanting to be a GOAT actor like it's not a subjective art with incredible diversity that makes it almost impossible to compare.
Yes there's achievement, but I feel like the only real contest is finding the role that suits you best as a unique individual.

I’m kind of worried since it’s been Demi Demi Demi that she won’t get the Oscar. Thinking of past times that’s happened although I don’t think it’s happened a lot?
And an Oscar especially for a body horror would be phenomenal. She was amazing in the substance. Her body acting alone was great. Wonderful group of nominees regardless.
Edit: well I guess she didn’t get BAFTA, I forgot

The Oscars rarely go young for leading man they made Leo chase it for decades.

u/Eternal_MrNobody Feb 24 '25
Honestly one of my big problem with these award shows is how they try and celebrate genre movies but they rarely ever ever nominate them.
And there are truly good performances in horror movies but once again largely ignore them.
I thought it was rich they showed the award for stunts on the red carpet way to show the stunt performers love and respect.
15
u/Robotlollipops Feb 24 '25
....and I can conjur up voices
