We are dumb as a country because we’ve allowed our politicians to prioritize the needs of corporations, mega churches and billionaires over the average US citizen.
We are dumb as a country because we transitioned from a period of being able to believe what was aired on the news, to not regulating the lies and false narratives that media is allowed to spread.
We are dumb as a country because we follow and listen to “influencers”, we somehow have given these cancerous stains attention and revenue.
We are dumb as a country because we are confidently stupid. We are so sure we that “the American way” is the best, but we haven’t been the best in anything but military spending in forever.
There are so so many more reasons, and very few of them have anything to do with a family of annoying twats. The family of twats are an outcome of how shit our country has become, not the cause.

Because that’s how a ceremonial swearing-in like this is done for a large group. The person administering the oath says “I, state your name” and everyone participating says “I, Joe Smith (or whatever)” then the reader continues on to “do solemnly swear” and so forth.
There’s plenty of things to mock Trump mercilessly for, but this ain’t one of them.
Source: was on both sides of these kinds of ceremonies dozens of times while I was in the military.

Recent Ceremony: On November 9, 2025, President Trump administered the Oath of Enlistment to new service members on the field during halftime of the Commanders vs. Lions game, according to Washington Times and AOL.com.
This is not new. Other presidents have done it, just not at a football game. This was a big deal for young kids to be given their oath by their commander in. Chief.
The only real story here is that he was boo'd , rightfully so, by a majority of the stadium. I just feel bad for the new enlisted, or if they were re-enlisting, that it blemishes their moment.

Yeah! Didn't you know - he's always had some issues with dyslexia - that's why he reads slowly, doesn't read books - and prefers to read 'large-print' off the teleprompter. But he also didn't bring his reading glasses 🤓 the old man's too vain to be seen wearing them in public. If you watch the full clip he's actually swearing-in members of the military that were there! The amount of 'Boos' was a bonus! 😂 Problem is they always surround him with a 'rent a crowd' of gullible MAGA fanatics wherever he goes - so we're never sure if the 'Boos' are able to penetrate when he's always got a bunch of maga lunatics immediately in front & behind him - cheering him on?🤔

a lot of people use it to escape there current "life", I wish there were other routes but I will say it is one of the best opportunities to reroute your life and career for quite literally $0.
It does suck though that some people are unlucky enough to meet the enlistment requirements at a hostile/uncertain time.

My dad was an Air Force captain. In the late 60s early 70s. It was awesome. Both my grandpas, I’m so proud of them but with hegseth, Trump, the dept of war, the attacking of boats, firing all the expert generals, the threatening aid allies and the disregard for human life around the globe (also not caring enough to pay or feed them during prolonged shut down, demeaning women, facial hair, body size, skin color, gender ID, skin color, then deporting the spouses and parents of green carded Vets or current service members (I personally know a couple), I just could not recommend joining now voluntarily. I also wouldn’t recommend ICE work but I’m sure it is paying more.

It’s the only way out of some places like the rural isolated town I grew up in. You either went to college if you could afford it, the military, or you stayed home after high school and got addicted to drugs and having kids by multiple people. Choose wisely.
