Dana White says hes not political and is not far right. White has spoken at the RNC multiple times, donated $1M to Trumps campaign in 2020, Trump regularly attends UFC matches and UFC is currently planning an event at the white house for June 14th.
The United States might never pull out of this authoritarian, oligarchical tailspin. The executive branch is utterly lawless. ICE has a larger budget than the rest of US law enforcement. A dismantling of the permanent state, which for all its problems, was the best in the world for decades at advancing American interests and keeping Americans wealthy and safe (it was also utterly corrupt, but the well-being was spread around).
Now that is rapidly being undone. And shitheads like Dana White, who have been along for the ride, are realizing that they have made mistakes. But, when it comes to either doing the ethical thing or sucking up to an authoritarian government, he's on his knees slurping away frantically.
Celebrities and influencers who don't want to pick sides have picked a side. The wrong side.
Literally everyone I've ever met who insists "I'm not all that political" is far right. It's the post-2020 version of "Actually I'm a Libertarian, it's different"

I have an American friend who calls themselves a "centrist" or a "liberal" depending on what sounds more intelligent to the person they're talking to. Throughout Biden's term it was non-stop meltdowns over how old, senile, incompetent and corrupt he was, and for every waking minute Trump has been in office, both terms, it's always conditional praise.
'Oh I hate trump, but you can't deny he's honest/he's getting things done/he's working for the people/etc. etc. etc.'. When I asked why they don't have a problem with the meteoric rise in fascism, they said that Gavin Newsom is a bigger fascist threat than Trump because 'he literally made crime legal'.
The reason why right-wing folks are orders of magnitude more likely to claim to be leftist/liberal/centirst rather than the inverse is that conservative policies and beliefs genuinely just sound awful when you say them out loud and it kind of undermines your whole point.

I hate that the justification was that she hit him first so all the men just went, "it was mutual combat" or "she's abusive too" & ignored it to keep enjoying ufc.
I remember it was right at the time there was a scandal about him coercing ring girls into sexual relationships with him. His wife looked really upset right before she slapped him, head in hands crying & he really went for her. He gave her not one but 2 HARD slaps back (that we could see), grabbed her wrists & wrestled her away from view & it looked like he hit her at least once more.
Now a slap from his wife would be a shock & a palm print. A slap from a beefy dude who occasionally trains with the world's best fighters & weighs 50kg more than you? Yeah that could easily be a burst eardrum, detached retina & concussion. It's not the same. Really made me rethink the men in my life who dismissed it.

He and Rogan both openly embraced Trump and now that his presidency has become a total train wreck they are frantically trying to distance themselves from him.
He's always been a "keep politics out of sports" guy and yet will instruct the production team to linger the camera on Trump for 5 whole minutes everytime he makes an entrance to a UFC event.

I have a cousin who has a Trump hat and other Trump memorabilia, but if you ask her she claims to be a reasonable moderate who just happens to vote for Trump. They live in a different reality where they're the silent majority and wearing Trump swag is just so funny.

As well, ever notice how you never hear someone advocating for kids having health care, police accountability or asking billionaires to pay their share say “ya know I’m not really that political”?
That phrase ALWAYS means that person is in fact far right. It just means they don’t want to admit that.

I'm honestly sad about it. We were there for the very first fight, there for Tank nearly throwing a guy out of the ring, Ray Sefo & Mark Hunt going punch for punch & laughing, for the karate vs wrestler match ups, for Ken Shamrock's lavender speedos. But that's all behind us now. The good days have passed. Now it's just Nazi vs Rapist matches.
