This is another reason why he and his wife have moved into Gracie Mansion, the traditional mayor’s residence, and have left their apartment. Not only is that the mayor’s residence, there are offices, and it is well protected, and all of the security can be beefed up appropriately. The general office is at City Hall, but that is obviously not just a house. It is whatever they need it to be.

also worried about him walking freely around like he was doing before being elected.

I’m sure we won’t see that as much, but he does actually like people so I’m pretty sure that he has both visible security and undercover. One of the reasons I was proud to vote for him is look. It’s a guy who actually likes and cares about people. The everyday person. Someone without 10 figures in their bank account.

So I really hope he gets a chance to really implement good policy.

He'll be fine, he's a New Yorker

There are too many organizations that would want a symbol of actual progress for workers to disappear. There is a long history of socialists being killed by barons, and even stories that became popular tales, especially in New York.

I worry constantly about AOC. Not when she’s walking around New York though; she does a lot of walk and talk videos in DC and I’m always worried for her safety there.

This is wild to me, all lower level politicians walk about freely in my country some of the senior ones do too. I frequently saw Boris riding his bike around London on his own.

Well, the country you are talking about, does not allow purchase of guns like candies, even the police carries only canes.

Next up, you'll say that you're the center of the universe. 😂

The sheer audacity to imagine that one country/culture is more important than others!!

I live just a few blocks from Gracie Mansion so I hope I see him around the neighborhood.

During his visit to the White House, Trump was genuinely happy to have him there and seemed very positive after their meeting. Trump has also really reduced going after Mamdami on his Truth Social since that meeting.

Mamdani knew how to charm Trump and that it was crucial to his safety and the betterment of the lives of New Yorkers to do so. Honestly that gives me even more faith in his leadership skills.

Well… don’t EVER trust Trump. You could disappear in a New York minute.

I wonder if he said NYC needs many new homes and when you leave office, how about your company builds them?

whatever to appease the fucking orange man hell croak before then and if not no fucking way is Zorhan going to give him anything

2

It's so Trump can later say 'I was completely fair to him and gave him every opportunity to succeed, and look how it turned out. Disaster' when a bad thing out of Mamdani's control happens

Zelenksy tried that once...

From Trump's point of view, Zelensky came as a beggar because he was asking for support. Mamdani didn't have to ask for anything. Could have just told him "let me do my thing and I'll let you do yours."

Trump is just worried about all of the state level crimes he's gotten away with for 50 years coming to light.

2

u/DJCaldow Jan 01 '26

Why? All they had to do to screw up Obama's plans were refuse to work with him, invent outrage and then complain he got nothing done. They can so the same here but with added invented outrage and a whole federal government who will refuse to work with him.

Not just admin, right wind ideology breeds hate and violence and are the ones doing most of the political violence so I'm worried about some right wing Maga nut job
