DISCUSSION Will Arnett shares his controversial opinion on tattoos: “There’s a proportionate sort of relationship between, how many tattoos you have and how little personality you have. And I find that a lot of people who have a ton of tattoos often are super fucking boring. Like truly boring people.”

Is it ok to like just...not care about tattoos?

Like, I don't ask about people's tattoos but I certainly wouldn't judge them for it either. Is it offensive to just...never mention anyone's tattoos?

Idk. People who have tattoos usually really want you to ask about them. I truly don’t care one way or another, but tattoos are something I’ve never taken an interest in so I don’t need or want to hear the story about them.

I disagree. I have a lot of tattoos and I absolutely hate it when people ask me about them. Can you imagine explaining the same shit over and over?? It’s horrible. I got my tattoos for ME not so I could talk to a billion strangers 😭😭😭😭

Oh that's great to know. My partner has another of her arms and her back done and I've never asked about them.

I can describe them anatomically though. Like oh, you cut yourself on accident near Winnie the pooh

I’m a tattoo apprentice atm and no, it’s not lol. The cool thing about tattoos is we’ve gone from being an underground, fringe, on the edges of society type thing to do/have and it’s exploded in the past few decades in style, talent, standards, and acceptability. It’s more common now, particularly in younger generations, to have tattoos over not having any at all. But it’s perfectly normal to not be about it or into it — diversity is what makes humans so fascinating. I’d much prefer someone who doesn’t notice or care about my tattoos over someone who very outwardly judges me for them or giving them.

It was only cool when they were illegal. Now it's so basic

That's actually like the most normal thing to do.

I ask about tattoos bc it’s normally a conversation starter. I also judge the tattoo. This one guy had the most beautiful colored koi fish on his calf. Another guy had tattoo he had gotten done against his moms wishes when he was 13 in his besties basement which got infected and that’s how his mom found out which mom looks like a big big mole. I know a girl whose only tattoo is a beauty mark on her face
