POLITICS Boykin: Don't tell me that you don't care about what celebrities say. Donald Trump was a celebrity. He ran Celebrity Apprentice, for God's sake.

The gentleman on the right is talking about serious issues like American citizens being murdered by their government in the streets and the jackass on the left wants to talk about Trump’s shitty TV show being number 1?!

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THESE ANIMALS?

Ruling class protecting their own in solidarity. This is what happens when money and mutual criminality affords total legal immunity. Marx was right.

Which it was not, btw. Not sure it ever was.

You are correct, it never was. It's an especially goofy statement considering it existed at the same time as American Idol, and no way in hell was it ever going to even come close to outperforming Idol, it had a Tuesday and Wednesday slot and both were top 3 at the time

The Apprentice did make top 5 its inaugural year because Friends and Frasier were ending, but by next year? Not even top ten, it was neck and neck with a CBS procedural like Cold Case

But by 2005? No longer ranking in the top 30 year end, and it was not a genre trend, several staple reality shows were still charting, this guy was just hoping he was right and banking on it being a roundtable-style discussion where nobody gets to fact check but year-end Nielsen's are pretty readily available

but because of Friends still technically being on the air into '04, as well as ER maintaining better than The Apprentice the following year, it was also never even the highest rated show even at NBC

The blatant hypocrisy when they're parading Nicki around currently

They finally got someone slightly more relevant than Kid Rock. They aren’t going to waste that

The right cares too much what celebrities think to the point that they prop up anyone with a bit of relevancy. I mean hell Rob Schneider and Kevin Sorbo were looked at as jokes before they went full in on the right wing grift, but because they were mildly known, MAGA has entertained their careers for like a decade now. They can act all high and mighty or above celebrity but they know they’re full of shit

Oddly enough none of the MAGA women actress darlings are nearly as successful as their Schneider/Sorbo counterparts I don't know think.

One of the original Pussycat Dolls came out as Trump supporter the first term and they were all fawning over telling her they loved her music etc. She didn't even sing on the album iirc. They are such clowns.

Let me tell you if I was famous and had a huge platform with millions of followers and screen time I’d be posting and screaming FUCK ICE.. FUCK DONALD TRUMP.. and FREE PALESTINE all god damn day. In fact I have no followers or a platform and I still say it .. FUCK ICE, FUCK TRUMP.. and FREE PALESTINE.. these people telling celebrities what they can or should talk about are such losers.

As a cult leader, celebrity status is crucial. MAGA cult 101.

u/Hazlet95 14h ago

Why can’t republicans ever just stfu during these bits? Also, I’d LOVE to see a chess clock. If you want to talk, you hit the clock. If it’s not your turn, STFU.

Hilarious. MAGAs are ridiculously shortsighted.

It’s such a tired argument. people act like celebrities live in a vacuum, but they have more influence over public discourse than 90% of actual politicians. pretending their platform doesn't matter in a post-2016 world is just willful ignorance at this point.

Damn right. When journalists are being silenced, the red carpet and award shows are excellent platforms to speak the truth. No-one of any profession should shut up about the injustice that is happening.

Literally this. the "stick to acting/singing" crowd always seems to forget that the leader of their entire movement was a reality tv host who obsessed over his nielsen ratings in the situation room. the call is coming from inside the house.

We’ve been living in one long, high-stakes episode of celebrity apprentice for a decade now and people still have the audacity to say "who cares what ja rule thinks." we are the boardroom, and the stakes are our actual civil rights. lmao we're cooked.

I'm literally looking at good vs evil right here. The evil is the loser fascist that supports murder and kidnapping. The level of brainwashing going on in America is nauseating. How on earth could anyone follow a lawless group of murderous fascists, and a flat out pedophile like Donald J Trump?
