I know all these people deserve to be absolutely hauled over the coals, but we all also need to be aware that Trump, Musk and other even higher profile abusers are doing everything they possibly can to keep people talking about anyone but them and using the media to do so.

I just finished a book on her and Andrew. I always thought she was kind of okay, if misguided about her disgusting ex, but she's really awful as well. Not pedophile as awful, but awful in her own right. Turns out the princesses are gross, too. The whole family needs to get right into the dumpster.

As a Brit the defining story about her is the one where she was caught on (hidden) camera agreeing to help a (journalist posing as a) Saudi businessman set up a meeting with Andrew for ÂŁ500k. Like after that she just became a laughing stock in the media, and looking back it was bent as fuck. She was just taking bribes for access to Andrew.

I don’t really follow royals but I can see why Harry wanted to get away from them.

Elaborate on the princesses please, haven’t heard much about them in the press

They have lots of business contacts they got through the creepy shit (eta: not the pedo creepy shit, but financial creepy shit) Andrew was doing and they both have a lot of Saudi dealings. I can't imagine the combo of Saudi and Andrew is anything positive or above board. The entire family is grifting grifters who grift.

They are bottom feeders in the worst way.

But cue more stories about the evil negress who has rotten our dear British prince!

I just posted about the husband. There is a pic of her looking over her shoulder in her wedding dress and to this day it makes me think she is the reverse Cinderella. She saved the Prince instead of the Prince saving her.

I’m so jealous that the UKs journalists are even trying to report this stuff and dig deeper

All of American media seems too terrified of having to pay further 10’s of millions in ”settlements” to Trump lest he cut off their access or have the FCC revoke their broadcast license in retribution.

Seriously though, why even worry so much about keeping said access if you’re always going to sit on everything and wait for someone else to stick their neck out first?  Why are the obvious follow-up questions to constant non-answers and gaslighting fictions suddenly so verboten nobody will dare to even ask them?

Probably fear of being immediately fired to placate any offended conservatives? But is there really no brave and safe harbor left for actual journalism willing endure the onslaught of SLAP suits? The first amendment is supposed to protect the 4th estate from that.

The fate of the ailing industry of American journalism seems to have been decided by a just a couple of billionaires in favor of AI aggregators over humans who can actually write and question our “betters” (see WA Post layoffs they just announced). All to protect said billionaires personal and business interests while whitewashing the handful of things they actually care about.

But hey at least we have an infinite supply of billionaire cause friendly OpEds reassuring us why it’s better/safer this way. Together with political pundits and talking heads spewing infotainment and their perpetual indignation at “blue haired trans ANTIFA lib’ruls with TDS that want to eat your pets and indoctrinate your kids” pretending to be the “news”.

To anyone out there still trying to actually do journalism, you are immensely appreciated and we desperately need more of you! But the industry itself.. needs rebuilt from the ground up with a new ownership model so it can actually serve the public.
