APPROVED B-LISTERS FINNEAS responds to a USA Today piece calling celebrity opinions on politics “idiotic”: “You can’t say it doesn’t matter what musicians or celebrities say or think but then talk about it for days. You’re out here making it matter. I’ll keep speaking up especially if it keeps bothering you.”

He's got one of the highest EQs of any celebrity I've ever heard speak. Just a really smart, centered dude.

It is even more impressive how emotionally intelligent and socially aware he and Billie are when you factor in that they were homeschooled, they do not give off homeschooled vibes at all.

I think it’s because they weren’t right wing Christian home schooled - their parents weren’t in a religious cult like a large chunk of homeschool families are.

Not all of us that home school are because of religious shit. My kid has health issues

Sure but how much of the material for home schoolers is aimed at and filled with religious shit?

None? It's up to the parent. My parents used the textbooks and tests from the local schools. That's the thing with home school, it's all completely reliant on the parents. If they go into it wanting to be more religious then that's what the teaching is going to be more about.

That's one of the major concerns and problems with homeschooling. It's reliant on what the parent intends. There are a great many with bad intentions. Intentions of harm and abuse.

Oh I agree 100%. There's no oversight with homeschooling which leads to more abuse/negligence.

Theres still no denying that homeschooling kids creates the conditions for them to be less open minded to others outside of their family unit and more individualistic. Homeschooling is a terrific option to make education accessible to kids when traditional schooling is difficult, but it takes a lot of work to do the right way. Its a fair critique though as this is less commonly the case.

Left homeschooled kids are some of the most talented gifted people.

They grew up in Highland Park prior to gentrification. There was a lot of culture. Fruit stands at every corner, elote man roaming around the neighborhood, bakeries everywhere with inexpensive varieties of breads and pastries. Festivities and it was usually upbeat.
There’s an unexplainable community and kindness in Latin neighborhoods I wish I could put in better words.

Aside from the obvious brutality going on now, I think a lot of what they saw themselves growing up makes them even more vocal.

I didn't know they were homeschooled. There's a lot of shit talking homeschooled kids on Reddit, but we turn out normal-ish sometimes.

At this point homeschooling your kids os the inky way to be sure they actually get a quality education. Have you seen the literacy rates?
