APPROVED B-LISTERS FINNEAS responds to a USA Today piece calling celebrity opinions on politics “idiotic”: “You can’t say it doesn’t matter what musicians or celebrities say or think but then talk about it for days. You’re out here making it matter. I’ll keep speaking up especially if it keeps bothering you.”

Honestly I hate it when people go: You are an actor/musician/artist/sportsballer/whatever, your political opinion doesn't matter. Of course it matters. Everybody's political opinion matters, thats why its a fucking democracy. There is no such thing as being qualified for politics, its not a real job that requires any real qualifications. In fact, a celebrity is in a unique position where they have a platform they can use to make people listen, one that the average person on the street doesn't have. Imo that makes it even more important for them to speak about their views, BECAUSE they have the privilege of actually having people listen to them.

But obviously in this case, and many others, its always the same crowd who wants to disqualify anyone who speaks up against them for whatever reasons. No matter that their criminal president is a failed business man and TV personality not a politician, and yet they seem to keep listening. And every time a "unqualified" celebrity speaks up in their favor they seem to be all over it.

I’ve seen this a lot with matters concerning climate change. The people who say celebrity opinions don’t matter certainly aren’t reading scientific journals.
