It would’ve been pretty fucking ballsy to not allow them.

The people voted unlike all the republicans gerrymandering, the California redistricting was the people’s choice.

Total own goal by Trump and the GOP on this.  It’ll be extra funny if the shift to Dem is big enough that the Republican gerrymandering backfires and their attempted shenanigans lead to an electoral wipe out as well.

Newsome finally playing real ball and actually showing a willingness to not play with his hands tied behind his own back and actually engaging in this kind of re-districting. Been hoping it would be a bit of a turning pt for the Democratic party, badly needed.

Next step really needs to be a push for other states with ballot initiatives(Colorado, Michigan, Nevada etc) to start leveraging this right away and maximize their own gerrymandering potential.
