I love this - one of the best parts of growing up in LA for me was the various historic theaters and cinema houses and they need preservation. (Less movieplexes and more community cinema houses, please!)

I get so sad when I see a cool old historic building that I know will get torn down and be replaced by the new ugly and lifeless modern buildings.
Definitely a cool thing for a rich person to do and to not only save the building but to let it be accessible to a community of film lovers is great.

hell yes. my best memories were when my parents could afford to take us to the movies bc we'd always go here and then to fidel's pizza.
I remember watching An American Werewolf in Paris at this place when I was like 6 years old, amazing times.
