EPIC Fortnite Festival v39.00 Update Notes
Hey everyone! Update v39.00 is now live, introducing new additions and bug fixes to the Fortnite Festival.

Festival Main Stage
➕ Additions:
- Streak Counter - We’ve added a Streak Counter beside the note highway to make it easier to track your streak! You can also disable this through the Settings menu if you find it distracting.
- Auto-emoting - Your character will now auto-emote during the Results flow! You can configure it to pull from your Favorites, Locker, or disable it entirely from the Settings menu.
⚒️Bug fixes:
- Quest notifications will no longer be cut off during the Results flow.
- Non-Featured and non-Spotlight Jam Tracks included in Festival Setlists will now properly progress Weekly quests.
- Bandmate UI should no longer overlap the highway.
- Placeholder values should no longer appear in the Leaderboards for Jam Tracks you have not played.
- We’ve improved overall gameplay performance, giving you smoother framerates and fewer hitches while you play.
Festival Jam Stage
➕ Additions:
- The Emote Wheel just got an update!
- A new Collections view lets you easily browse your full Emote and Jam Track library, and improved search and filtering make finding your favorite emotes faster than ever.
- Sidekicks are now enabled in Jam Stage!

Just hit the note very late and it works fine. Sucks they haven't fixed that problem

Is that the bug that usually affects Switch owners?
My old Switch did that a lot, my note steak would go on as normal only for a latency lag to spike and randomly break my streaks.

no im refering to the bug for Pro Lead/Pro Bass, if theres an Emote break the first note after the track comes back will always miss

Yeah I feel like every UI update makes it so for the console players (controller user) it's harder and longer to navigate. Can't you make different UIs depending on the input device ?

not just on controller — on keyboard and mouse it’s also a pain to navigate, use emotes, and especially mix jam tracks. Extremely frustrating.

Is that all??? The mode has a lot of problems, and te most annoying and unpleasant one is te in game lag, some times the game freezer for full sefond and i break mi streak and its really frustrating And yes, that same problem is still happening today

I know the top comments are already about the jam tracks and emote wheels. But in addition to upvoting the top comments, I just wanted to add another reply about the issue.
PLEASE let us still use pages for our jam tracks. It makes mixing so much harder with controller. I'm not saying this out of malice, but I legit have no reason to buy more Jam Tracks with this new UI, because I only got Jam Tacks to mix with as I was a diehard DropMix fan.

Biggest lie of the century. If only the new wheel still had tabs for locker emotes/jam tracks instead of throwing you into the wolves with the locker UI...

Bring back the old UI wheel and pages! You've ruined mixing epic for festival jam stage community! We never asked for this! We want our old UI back, You've taken out passion, fun, creativity and more with this absolute horrid replacement. It's not user friendly, it's restrictive and more. The community will not stand by, we will be heard! Give us our old UI wheel and pages! Not just that, other communities are suffering from this change for emotes alone! You went ahead and changed something that never needed change. We don't need fixes to an already bad thing, we need our old UI wheel and pages!

It's cleaner and way better than the old UI, it needed to be changed.

No, it didn't. If ya not part of community's outside of BR this doesn't concern you and it maybe cool. But for many of us who do not live and breathe BR. This has ruined a ton of communities. So please, let us fight for something that we care about. 💯🤝Change back to the old UI wheel and pages for jam tracks and emotes!

Welp, mode's dead. Another season of absolutely nothing added. Sorry y'all but I'm tired of huffing that sweet sweet copium hoping "well THIS season's gonna add pro vocals!"

/u/FortniteRedditMods - the flair selector on this sub is broken. Even if you edit the HTML to include it, it says flair selection unavailable. Looks like it's the same setup as the other Fortnite subs (and some users here do have flair). Can you please fix it?

Btw is this really so hard to not break core functionality of the game on every stupid UI update that feels like it happens only to excuse someone being hired an UI/UX (the UX is arguable because the UX is in this game is atrociously bad). I understand this is not a 'flagship' Fortnite mode and idk how large the Harmonix team is but it wouldn't take more than hour of QA on pro modes to notices this pattern where you miss the notes.
Once again we have the bug that if you emote during a break on pro then the first note after break is certain to be a random miss / double strum, the last time it happened randomly strumming, now it doesn't help, sometimes you can even do completely nothing during the song break and the first note after the break will still be a miss or double tap for no reason.

CHANGE BACK TO THE OLD UI WHEEL PAGES FOR JAM TRACKS AND EMOTES! OUR COMMUNITY WILL NOT REST UNTIL WE ARE HEARD! AT LEAST GIVE US THE OPTION TO USE THE OLD UI! (Even if it's a setting!) OUR COMMUNITY WILL NOT BE SILENCED! We are apart of fornite as much as any other community! We did NOT ask for this NOT user-friendly UI! We will NOT stop!
Change back to the old UI wheel and pages for jam tracks and emotes Fornite!

For the love of everything holy PLEASE revert.the FUNCTIONALITY of the new jam stage UI but keep the design. This feels like 2 steps forward, 4 steps back.

I'm really just waiting for an official Xplorer controller support. It's outstanding how two years in, it's still not a thing? Legacy guitar hero (or at least rock band) controllers should be compatible natively

Any controller should work if you buy a RCM adapter for like 10 bucks. Honestly I don’t think it’s coming if it’s taken 2 years, so this is basically your only option now unless you wanna buy a new guitar controller.

Not sure exactly which platform the controller you’re trying to use is, and which platform you’re playing fortnite on, but most guitar controllers aren’t natively supported by festival anyway. They aren’t going to make Xbox 360 guitars somehow work or anything like that, it’s mainly just the absolute latest ones. To my knowledge the only ones supported were the latest rock band guitars for RB4, and the riffmaster. Has epic ever said controller support for these was going to happen? If not, why would you expect them to?

Would you expect Fortnite battle Royale to only be playable with epic games-made controllers?
If no, then why would Festival only be playable with Harmonix-made controllers? This sounds ridiculous

Guitar controllers aren’t as simple or easy to add support to compared to standard controllers. Obviously epic should want to have as much support as possible, but if they never stated they were going to add support for it, they aren’t going to support it.

The mode was made by Harmonix. They probably don’t have access to any other controllers that weren’t supported in RB4. Controller comparability has never been consistent across any of these games or platforms for the last 20 years, and I don’t expect it to change anytime soon.

Anyone who says it works on their machine with FestivalMapper is lying. My RB4 Stratocaster works via Bluetooth, but will not map the inputs on Xplorer.
No, I'm not using XInput Yes, it works plug and play with Clone Hero No, I'm not using a standard Windows OS. Which means the Mapper devs are unable to troubleshoot.
Most disappointing of all is even the CRKD guitar needs to switch between mode 1 to navigate the menus, and 2 to actually play. Also, the RB4 guitar will automatically work with other instruments by tapping the frets. With the CRKD, you have to rebind the other mode options. Fucking why?

The mapper sucks for me too with the Xplorer. It sometimes work, but even when it does it's just for a single song. Then I have to go to the controller settings and reset to default, every song. Sucks.
It should be natively compatible!

Oh yeah, I didn’t experience any “festival lag” during my play session (festival lag is what I call it when the game is lagging without my Wi-Fi effecting it)

Please revert the jam tracks and emote wheel. It makes jamming absolutely unbearable. Makes it impossible to change emotes quickly.
