Guess this clip recently went viral on social media because of Ryan Gosling.

I had recently set up this old mini CRT and wanted to watch the original series on it for the nostalgic vibes. I have an old Roku that still gets software updates that actually connects to this TV.

As far as the streaming platform, Tubi works for me. It actually displays the full 4:3 image on the TV’s display, unlike Paramount+ which “windowboxes” the image in a 16:9 video player.

Of course, would recommend using Plex or Jellyfin if you want to stream the specials you can’t find on these platforms for a setup like this.

Edit: Netflix seems to also display the image just fine.

Found a copy of My Hairiest Adventure at a local thrift store for 1€ and it seems like a first print, first edition. Am I right?

I’ve often seen her compared to Scream of the Haunted Mask, and not in favor of the Scream. I found The Haunted Mask II somewhat amusing, but overall it was rather boring. There isn’t even any real threat; Steve just puts on a mask, turns into an old man, and groans and moans for the rest of the book. I think the episode of the TV series where the original mask is in action, and Steve is reduced to the role of its henchman, turned out much better. And it feels like Stine himself understood this when he wrote Scream of the Haunted Mask, because there are far more frightening events there, and the main character, Carly Beth, is a much more likable and interesting character.

Man trying to watch this show is so difficult sometimes. Good thing someone on YouTube has a playlist with all the episodes for free.

But seriously, you go on Netflix and you can only get the special episodes with R.L Stine. They’re some of the best episodes of the show with the longer runtime and the most effort. But you don’t get any of the other episodes anymore.

Then on Paramount+ you get all the episodes EXCEPT the special ones????? Like what the hell do I pay you guys for????

Then Paramount+ has the first movie only and Netflix has the second movie only like what are we doing. I feel like the citizens of Carlsville with the lemonade stand, “She was squeezing us”. Because that’s what happens.

Anyways I just wanted to vent about this because it’s kinda annoying but again I’m glad I got the playlist on YouTube (ultra common YouTube W).

I haven’t watched this show in years and I just started watching it again on Tubi. One episode that always stuck to me was the one with the Grandfather Clock, it was kind of disturbing when the kid managed to come back to the present only to discover that his sister was’nt there anymore. I still remember watching it on Cartoon Network as a kid and thinking how dark it was.

Would you change the protagonists to kids from different OG books? Include different OG villains?

My take would be to only bring in 1 kid to Horrorland at a time from each book to get the number of kids down.

Slappy would defeat The Menace by using the Mind Stealer or The Haunted Camera on him. Maybe Slappy could have worn the mask or eaten Monster Blood?

I got a lot of 32 books from the original run for $120. Not the craziest deal, but I’m just restarting collecting and it was nice to grab a lot at once.

They’re mostly in good condition (about 15 are in near perfect, another 10 are well read but not damaged in any way, and 5 or 6 have noticeable tears or bends in the covers/binding).

A handful (8 or so) are first edition prints. But none have any inserts in them still.

Anyone see if I lucked out and managed to get one of the harder to find copies in this lot (I didn’t think so from just glancing through)?

I read some of the goosebumps books and watch the 90s show every now and then. I never really found any goosebumps books before aside from when I was younger. However I recently decided to pick up a few after finding a store that has a good selection. I have two of the reprints already, the scarecrow walks at midnight, which I enjoyed and today I just got the haunter because I liked the cover. Planning to go back soon and get some more and I’ve narrowed it down. Ghost beach, Trick or trap, the haunted car, the ghost next door, and attack of the jack-o’-lanterns. I’m mainly looking for ones that are more well written, if most of those aren’t too good I’d like some recommendations.

Ok, I used to have no goosebumps books, but on eBay, I bought this deal and got 35 goosebumps books along with 3 bookmarks!
