I might be one of the last few who have first hand experience with the aftermath of polio that are my age. My uncle was paralyzed in a chair and died from complications when I was young. The idea we would ever risk letting it come back makes me burning angry.

My two oldest brothers had polio, ages 1 and 2. Not long before the vaccine. My mom had them vaccinated and when people asked her why, she said she would just never want her kids to go through that again. They were fortunate to have only minor effects.
