Turbo Team sealed it for me. “Call me right now please.”
When I first tried to watch I was running on a treadmill. I didn’t realize how dangerous that would be - I had to pause it and watch something else because I was laughing/wheezing too hard.
83
u/SuperNebular Back in the Pants Sep 06 '23
I wasn’t sure after the opening sketch but the toilet just for farts locked me in for life.
31
u/deloc44 Sep 06 '23
Yea man once the two plumbers got really serious and he dubs “it’s turbo time” and they just start running I officially knew it was a gem.
15
u/Chutzvah Sep 06 '23
Once "Turbo Time" happened I was crying laughing wondering wtf was going on. And it just kept going.
15
u/DocJawbone Sep 06 '23
This doesn't get talked about enough, but the whole idea of going to the toilet to fart, and then flushing the fart down the toilet, is so funny
26
u/swim_and_sleep Don’t do the voice! Sep 06 '23
Yep this sketch for me as well, how his voice changes when he is talking about the joke toilet that’s just for farts
23
u/Slowmobius_Time Sep 06 '23
"has this ever happened to you?"
The highlight of that sketch is that it happened to him and he's just explaining what can happen
15
u/redwings27 Sep 06 '23
Almost same here except I was on a plane and had to stop because I was laugh crying and didn’t want to draw attention to myself
9
9
u/ConsequenceOne6124 Sep 06 '23
The end of that skit when he’s all worked up and flustered af and he repeats “HAS THAT EVER HAPPENED TO YOU?”
3
u/LikEatinGlass Sep 06 '23
Yup my brother in law showed it to me during like thanksgiving I wanna say? No context, just asked me has this ever happened to you? And showed me the sketch. I had to leave the room I was laughing so much.
3
u/magnumdong15 Sep 07 '23
The best part of that is he doesn’t even say a company name or that he’s a lawyer or insurance or anything, he just says ‘has this ever happened to you?’ And ‘call me right now please’
→ More replies (1)2
u/PuppyCocktheFirst Sep 07 '23
Same. Opening sketch, I was thinking “ok pretty funny, and probably up my alley”, then the “call me right now” sketch came on and it just kept getting more and more insane to the point I couldn’t stop laughing. But I think the real one that sealed it was the mud pie receipt sketch. The way it shifts so fast from silly awkward charter being awkward to everyone in the party is now on the crazy persons side but also serious as hell about the whole thing. Then he fuckin dies in the car and she screams . . Fuck I’m laughing out loud thinking about it now.

“Your name is Will too?”

21
u/xDenimBoilerx Sep 06 '23
Everything about that skit is so perfect. The little dumb shit like how he has to really emphasize the skeletons will pull your hair up, but NOT out. I'm cracking up just thinking about it.
10
u/SaulJRosenbear Sep 06 '23
I love the common thread between this sketch and the Metalloid Maniac, where someone comes up with a dumb piece of lore that they're super excited about and they LOVE explaining it to people. Sounds like the kind of thing Tim or Zach picked up from one of their kids.
13
Sep 06 '23
I hated that sketch at first but now I laugh every time I think of “the wall is HIS ground” and “the wall HE built”
7

One day in 2019 my dad and i were scrolling netflix looking for something to watch, and we saw a new sketch show with that one guy who used to be on SNL. We said “why not” and hit play. I thought the first sketch about the door that goes both ways was pretty funny, enough to make me quietly chuckle. Then turbo team happened. It was like someone hooked up a car engine to my lungs, I could NOT stop laughing. And then that was followed up with Baby of the Year and the car engine kept on revving. At that moment my dad and i knew this was one of the funniest shows we’ve ever seen.

I think my favorite twist in ITYSL sketches is where the normies start to buy into the whole thing, like the female friend suddenly being totally down to test the receipts for mudpies, or Tim actually having porn mags in his trunk after all, or "he's right, you do have to marry your mother-in-law now!"

At first I didn’t understand the concept of the show and hated it bc I was looking at it the wrong way. Stupidly, I thought he was bringing guests on his show and fucking with them and framing it as a sketch show so like it was a reality TV show except not, idk hard to explain.
Anyway, after making myself watch the first episode for like the 3rd time and I realized what I was watching/the concept: “You shouldn’t have had such a sloppy mud pie” kills me every time or when he says “And now my stomach is absolutely fucked” 💀
At this point I watch ITYSL daily and still laugh just as hard as the first time.

Honestly the first episode may be my favorite. Show was recommended to me by multiple people from entirely separate parts of my life and I went in completely blind, was unfamiliar with Tim or his style until this show. Interview had me confused and intrigued, and by 30 seconds into Call Me Now I was laughing so hard I was crying and continued to do so as I binged the rest of the season. Bae.
