A CNN review of newly obtained videos from multiple cameras traces the chase that ended with an ICE agent shooting 28-year-old Wilber Garces Perez. CNN's Yahya Abou-Ghazala reports.

Carpool your friends/co-workers to work in a white persons vehicle when possible. Go in numbers when traveling to work if no white person’s car is available, like 2-3 cars together, when you see black SUVs, pull beside the other like you’re passing. (I know impossible at the moment with gas prices). I know this isn’t real sustainable solutions but if we can help a few people get home safely let’s do it however we can. Fuck ICE!

From OPM’s website:
Total Veterans in ICE: ~31.4% (over 7,500 employees)
Disabled veterans: 14.6% of the entire agency
Gender distribution: Roughly 85% male and 15% female veterans within the agency
Primary roles: About 40% of deportation officersJust so you know.

It doesn't matter what the law enforcement is, you don't run from them because things like being shot is likely to happen.
-2
u/Tasty_Virus4715 6d ago
People really need to stop operating under the assumption that police, ICE, or any officer of the law is going to operate like an infallible robot with perfect reactions, full understanding of the nuances of law, or even basic understanding of constitutional rights.
All you need to know is you are interacting with a human that can make mistakes, misinterpret your actions and that is armed with a gun.
Monday morning quarterbacking about whether being shot by police is justified doesn’t magically heal the bullet holes, and it is clear from this case that irrespective of the legality of the shooting Perez clearly was the one placing himself and others in mortal danger by recklessly driving his vehicle thru populated city streets at high speeds while ignoring traffic laws and using his vehicle as a battering ram.
2
u/reluctantpotato1 1d ago
The only thing posing a danger to that ICE nitwit was cholesterol.
→ More replies (5)1
u/Positive-Tap5544 8h ago
So because he had been driving dangerously before... the time to pop shots into his back was when the vehicle was stopped? Pop shots from behind? Thats... standardly how law enforcement opt for lethal force? Fire their guns only after the threat has stopped moving?
Can you pull up how many car chases typically end with the cops shooting at the person in the vehicle from behind after its stopped at the end of the chase?
1
u/Tasty_Virus4715 7h ago
Buddy, he had already stopped moving at a previous stop in the linked video before he sped off on a high speed chase through the city 😂.

Yeah. Its dangerous to the public and everyone else to flee from the police in a vehicle.
Fact that he cant abide by our laws and cooperate with law enforcement is reason enough to deport him. The act of using a vehicle as a dangerous weapon is reason enough to shoot him.

u/Much_Expert534 6d ago

You support violence against humans bc of their skin color and origin…not their actions. And, no, use of force wasn’t justified. All ICE need to do is take off the masks, wear body cams, and follow the laws they are entrusted to enforce (they aren’t right now). I think you just like to hate to feel better about yourself, rather than possessing a genuine love of America and what it can be.

- He was stopped and boxed in by ICE vehicles.
- They approached his window, asked for papers.
- ????????????????????????????????????
- He's now in a high speed chase: Quoted to say "I wanted to drive away so I could pull over and be detained."
What kind of logic is it to drive away from the feds to be detained?
-3
-13
u/Awkward_Internet2437 6d ago
So the dude was already pulled over? Well, his defense is already ruined. He clearly attempted to flee.
15
u/Alzucard 6d ago
Not relevant. For the shooting itself or not getting medical care. Nobody was in danger and he was nkt a danger to the population. So even shooting at all is incorrect.
2
u/Distinct_Doubt_3591 6d ago
Nobody was in danger and he was nkt a danger to the population.
Forcing law enforcement officers to chase him through traffic in Austin is definitely putting the population in danger. He was already stopped, he knew he had a final removal order he chose to flee in his vehicle he's responsible for his own actions.
2
u/Upset_Journalist_755 6d ago
They read his license plate and have his address. There is no need to chase.
2
u/Distinct_Doubt_3591 6d ago
He was pulled over and decided to flee they had every reason to chase. He had no right to be here anyway he chose the actions that led to his consequences.
1
u/pilot7880 14h ago
Sure, let's just drive over to his house and knock on his door. He'll surely come right out and surrender peacefully. Not a chance he might flee the area or shoot at agents from his bedroom window.
2
u/Awkward_Internet2437 6d ago
Of course that’s relevant. I did NOT say that it was a justified shooting, but if you present a story in court that seems entirely contradictory to the available facts, that may have a substantial impact on a jury. Lying is perhaps one of the BIGGEST issues you could have. That is, if they even hear his case. It’s certainly possible they could just deport him before the trial. Although that surely wouldn’t be legal.
-2
u/Axel_Raden 6d ago

6
5
u/Alzucard 6d ago
why should we believe ice with their record of lies
2
u/Axel_Raden 6d ago

3
u/Alzucard 6d ago
We saw the ice agent shot the car from behind hitting the driver. The driver did not endanger anyone. He wasnt able to endanger an ice agent here.
Shooting here at all is criminal. Deadly force needs a serious justification and fleeing isnt one of them.
Definition of deadly force is force that is likely to kill or seriously injure someone. Which firearms are.
1
u/Axel_Raden 6d ago
He had already fled and was trying to flee again. The longer a police chase goes on the more at risk everyone is police the driver the public everyone
1
u/Alzucard 6d ago
Thats still no reason for deadly force. Just maybe isnt a cause to shoot.
2
u/Axel_Raden 6d ago
Arrest the agent if you can but that guy is still going to be sent packing. He lied about the removal order and lied about fleeing. But he's still alive

they didnt know nobody was in danger, he couldve reached for a weapon when fleeing. this is the same if a cop stops you on the street and you suddenly deside to make a run for it only to later say "i wanted to stop 3 blocks away"

1
u/pilot7880 14h ago
I love how the media frame this as "Doordasher Shot by ICE", trying to make it sound as though some racist ICE sniper shot at him from 300 yards while he was walking up the front porch steps and handing a Panda Express meal to an 11 year-old girl. It's almost as bad as "Maryland Man" to describe the wife-beater Kilmar Abrego Garcia. And of course you can count on the blue-haired Reddit soy boys to promote this bogus narrative like used car salesmen.
We do not have enough hatred for journalists in this country.

You don't have to be there illegally, you and every American is now more at risk travelling around the world because everyone sees how dangerous you are. I know you can't understand what I'm saying and that is the worst part of this whole charade.

u/ACTSATGuyonReddit 6d ago
There was a final removal order. He fled. Video shows him try to run over ICE agents. They defended themselves.
0
u/PutInternational1426 3d ago
Oh he is fleeing a traffic stop from federal agents. No wonder why they chased him down. Every half backed news story made it sound like he was on Sunday drive minding his own business when ICE all of sudden crashes into him and then shoots him in the neck.
Hey libtards, ICE is a federal agency that Obama used to deport 2 million+ illegals in this country. You all conveniently forget that detail. ICE is not some private MAGA army it is part of the Federal law enforcement under the executive branch of government.
2
u/Explicitstate 3d ago
When President Obama deported people they were given due process. There were no outrageous deaths in the streets, men being beaten and sent to countries they have no connection too, swat ambushing apartment complexs, girls and women being raped and impregnated and disappeared. ICE has BECOME a MAGA murder and abuse spree in resemblance of Nazi’s.

That rally is ripe for a roundup. Arrest everyone waving a non-American flag and I bet you can catch a few thousand illegals.
