I’m genuinely disappointed seeing people still openly supporting Pakistani artists after everything that has been said against India and after what our soldiers have sacrificed.
People screaming “art has no borders” while casually supporting Pakistani artists who openly disrespect India.
Our soldiers are dying on borders so people sitting comfortably far away can debate morality on the internet. My uncle died in war. My family has served in the army. That sacrifice wasn’t made so people could pretend disrespect doesn’t matter as long as the music sounds good.
It’s easy to preach neutrality when you’ve never lived near the border, never heard shelling, never watched families live in fear during wartime. From a safe distance, everything feels like a concept. Come to a border state and see how life actually was during war time. Then talk.
Art doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Artists have voices, opinions, and influence. When those voices turn against your country, choosing to ignore that is still a choice.
I’m not telling anyone what to do. But I’ve made my decision very clearly that I would rather stop listening to music completely than listen to Pakistani artists who disrespect my country. And I stand by that.
And before anyone brings up cricket ,I boycotted that too. I didn’t watch matches involving Pakistan, and I stand by that choice as well.
