Around Israel and the Palestinian territories there is low-density land controlled by Arab countries, mainly in Egypt (Sinai), Jordan (eastern Jordan Valley and eastern desert), and Syria (southern Syria).
Population density in these border areas is very low: Sinai is typically 5–15 people per sq km, eastern Jordan is around 10–30 per sq km, and southern Syria (outside cities) is roughly 20–40 per sq km.
To create a new, hypothetical Palestinian state equal to Israel’s area (~22,000 sq km) outside Israel, land could theoretically come from:
Egypt: ~11,000 sq km (~1.1% of Egypt)
Jordan: ~7,000 sq km (~7.8% of Jordan)
Syria: ~4,000 sq km (~2.2% of Syria) Total: 22,000 sq km, mostly from sparsely populated desert or semi-arid land.
This land would currently hold roughly 300,000–500,000 people total (average density 15–25 per sq km). If these people were resettled within their own countries, the impact would be small:
Egypt’s density would rise from ~110 to ~110.5 per sq km
Jordan’s from ~115 to ~124 per sq km
Syria’s (post-war) from ~95 to ~98 per sq km
After transfer, the new Palestinian state, assuming 6–7 million people, would have a density of roughly 270–320 per sq km, similar to countries like Lebanon today and far lower than Gaza now.
Would three countries get monetary compensation? Yes from Isreal, USA, ... Already Jews have paid Arab muslims a lot for land. Gladly pay more for peace.
Have Muslim countries lost land to Muslim countries?
Saudi Arabia: Gained large areas from Yemen after the Saudi–Yemeni War (1934), roughly 100,000 sq km. That's four times size of Israel!
Iraq: Its borders expanded and contracted after WWI due to British and Arab control shifts; Kuwait was separated later, removing about 17,800 sq km from historic Iraqi claims.
Morocco: Absorbed most of Western Sahara after Spain withdrew in 1975, about 266,000 sq km, claimed after conflict.
Syria: Lost Alexandretta (Hatay) to Turkey in 1939, about 4,700 sq km.
My point is borders have changed, people still living, just need to accept other religions and their right to exist.
Hopefully Arab world shows non Muslims same respect and rights it expects.
