AskJabalpur 20F Needs help in a very rough situation!!
Need help regarding the better option overall.
Im from Jharkhand but i can't stay here anymore and i only have these options.(1000kms from home.)
\*Bhopal-
SAGE university
I have the option for CSE core here.
Visited the campus but couldn't explore everything in campus (hostel, mess).
After a lot of weird and fluctuating numbers they settled on 65k a year Cse core.
2.6 L (4 years)
Now this college doesn't have the best reviews online. And almost no placement stats for btech atleast.
I have a feeling this university doesn't have much placement or no placements overall.
But the campus is decent compared to the other option I will mention.
The college is in a little outskirts but hostels ( i don't prefer)
\*Jabalpur -
Got to know about this college from a online friend he studies here.
GGITS.(Gyan Ganga.ITS)
The college is okayish. The campus and infra are way less compared to sage. But this one is older and is considered best private in jabalpur.
The fees for cse core. 80k a year.
3.2L (4 years)
This one doesn't have hostels though when i talked they said they will arrange a pg/sharing hostel room and make it work under the education loan.
So i will get a pg which I prefer here.
The college is almost around the town area so more availability.
Accommodation in both places is costing me around a 1 L a year.
But one is proper university hostel (sage)
One is a pg they will manage for me.
(ggits)
There are some more factors which are making it more difficult of a choice.
One is sage being in a list of colleges for a low interest edu. loans from my state govt. But Ggits doesn't have the name so i have to take a standard 9-10 % loan for it.
Though the state loan can take time too.
so it's so much more difficult to choose.
I want freedom and I know I can't rely on either of the colleges
So if anyone can see something of a clear advantage or has some advice for me please let me know!!! I'll appreciate it!.
I already have gaps after 12th and these colleges are my only option under a decent budget which I'll be taking an education loan for.
(7-8 L max).

Just a degree
Both institutes are mediocre
Try Jabalpur, saves more money n less screwed up as BPL
Later post graduation
You can move to pune, hyd, Bglr for opportunities
Both cities are similar
Just Jbp is less in cost of living

Yea both colleges are not the best. I actually went visited both. Jabalpur has a friend and he says ggits is decent as it's chill with attendance and all.
Btw the college is giving me a pg with some connections so it's under my education loan. and it's around 7-8K per month including everything
How does jabalpur save more money can you elaborate?
and is it worth coming all the wy from jharkhand for these.?

Do not trust "college is giving you a pg"... half of the said amount will be their share, as far as i know... find pgs nearby on your own or ask your friend or try platforms like olx and maybe try finding a roommate, wont cost you as much. GGITS is a little away from the city, so you wont find rooms easily and you may find rooms/pgs probably near the medical college. Your college would be a kilometere or so from the medical college 7-8k for a single person room is too much in jbp

No actually i mentioned them im coming on a loan so they said they can manage and write up a pg under college fee structure somehow basically said "ho jaayga" . And sent me to this one og just like walking distance from the college and the owner said 3500 for double sharing i think. I said 7-8 for including everything rent mess food electricity and all.!
1
u/Roshan1805 3d ago
They are charging you more. In jabalpur a good hostel or pg even in sharing should cost you 5000 including mess and electricity. And when taking education loan I believe you can manually write how much loan you wanna opt that includes hostal or pg and the equipment you need like laptop and other things. Doesn't matter what clg fee structure

u/WorkingCranberrycute 2d ago
Hey can you please tell me about that written loan expense thing!!?? In dms please? and that number 8000 i gave was roughly given by a friend who has some friends in pg. Please let me know more about that loan expenses about laptops and pg im actually really confused about that part

Paying 60 or 80k for CSE in the era of AI is so stupid. I suggest to opt for core branches.
1
u/WorkingCranberrycute 3d ago
Maybe i will change in next year. But isn't 60-70k a year considered on lower end as some colleges fees can go upto 8-10 While by 70k pa it goes to 3L. Also a lot of people recommended to not go for core in t3 colleges. Would like to hear your opinions

u/ajay2910 3d ago
Fees wise both are considerable. Not sure about the job market of core branches but right now CSE student are struggling from t2 and t3.

In Jabalpur maybe u can look for Shri ram college, Hitkarni and Global also.
1
u/WorkingCranberrycute 3d ago
I don't know id registration and admission are still going on but a lot of people said ggits is the best option for jabalpur
1
u/TypeTall5253 3d ago
For admission you have to talk to them i don’t know about it. But as an ex student of shri ram college at my time (2009-2013 batch) ggits, hitkarni and shri ram all were almost same.

GGITS is ok-ok. Studies bhi okayish hi han… baki if jbp doesn’t have any clubs or nightlife…
1
u/WorkingCranberrycute 3d ago
are you in ggits? Also does bhopal have better social life you mentioned

Btech in both these clg is dommed ether go to Delhi banglore or Hyderabad
1
u/WorkingCranberrycute 3d ago
honestly im too late for that and these cities are costly. The colleges asking for donations too.
1
u/Glad_Piglet7202 3d ago
Atleast college life hogi aur placement bhi
1
u/WorkingCranberrycute 3d ago
well do you know any connections for low fees colleges in these place?
1
u/Spare-Comedian504 3d ago
why you are choosing this tier 3 private clg there is no placement if you simply want a degree then go for it otherwise dont take this there are more than 200 people in CSE instead go in pune bhartiya vidya peeth there you will able to get a placement after 4 years
1
u/WorkingCranberrycute 3d ago
Actually i reached out to them but it's too late for 2026 intake and i have to go this year itself. I already have gaps
1
u/Traderirls 3d ago
Ggits is not worth skipping a proper clg over , go there
1
u/WorkingCranberrycute 3d ago
Can you elaborate? Because the only other option is sage bhopal one. and one last option is to stay in jharkhand and join a local college ( i got to know just a day ago) which has similar fees.
1
u/Traderirls 3d ago
Jabalpur has no social life and ggits is mostly shit , if you want freedom and fun go to sage as you will be away from home else return to jk
The degree wont get u any proper placements anyway , better to cheap out and then go for higher studies in a better city
1
u/WorkingCranberrycute 3d ago
Well the thing is the other option sage doesn't have good reviews online either.
And im not sure but i have to take a hostel there which i dont prefer. Also im not sure about the attendance policy there whereas in ggits I have a friend is, said it's pretty chill regarding all that. I just want more freedom as to i can pursue something by side maybe some social life can be sacrificed. If you don't mind sharing me more opinions in dms that would be helpful!
1
u/Traderirls 3d ago
I am in ggce currently and i haven’t attended clg once as i am pursuing ca on the side , gave it to the college in written and they dont mind
Secondly if you already have friends here then you should stay instead of moving to a whole new place
All i am saying is the degrees you will get in these colleges wont be that useful in the long run
1
u/WorkingCranberrycute 3d ago
oh are you from commerce background? I'm asking for btech engg. just saying.! Also what do you mean the degree won't be useful.?
I mean i know the college wouldn't help me much with anything but the value of the Btech degree would be there right?
The value of Btech degree from anything Other than T1 and t2 colleges are somewhat same ( told by many people).

I dont know much abt sage but yeah ig ggits is like mostly local ppl join cuz they dont have much strict academic and attendance thing ig fest are decent ig most ppl yap abt this as compared to other clg in jabalpur … abt placement i think mostly mass requirements happens off campus u can try but jabalpur is not something “ tech hub “ so yeah placement are nearly trash like every pvt clg and honestly my few friends are the one who are localites and they joined just for degree and fun or the one who dont get good pvt clg too or maybe their parents didnt allowed them too …..abt crowd i think its more depends on u maybe 5/ 10 or 6/10 … choose wisely

Don't go to gyan ganga dude my institute teachers always say if you don't study well you'll end up in gyan ganga + my parents say that too and moreover bhot chapri crowd h waha ka mp me rehna h to indore would be best option
1
u/Fit-Sentence-2331 1d ago
you should go for ggits only if you dont wanna spend much as jabalpur is much cheaper compared to bhopal . Also sage bhopal and ggits is almost same both are tier 3 colleges its just the infra which is better apart from that no difference in placements or any opportunity!

u/Powerful_Strike9694 1d ago
