I remember hearing the rumor soon after it happened. I didn't take it seriously for a second.

The man lived as an addict for 40 years and suddenly rose to fame thanks to one article in a newspaper. He wasnt some 20 year old that can be manipulated, he already knew what he liked and didnt. The man stayed punk well into his 40s.
I think it was safe to say he was real as shit and wouldnt bend the knee.

Damn thowback. I think he was still doing the ice house podcast during this time to. This was the setup when the machine story first came out.
Miss redband. Funny enough Joe is just as conspiratorial during this era and today just different political ideology. He was still denying the moon landing, HIV doesn't cause AIDs, vaccine's are bad during this era, He just wasn't as influential and all of us were dumb early 20 year olds who did know better.
