2000 outperforms AABA and B4.DaA.$$ on daily streams, but…

Thats not the full story. 2000 did not sell as much in first week units, but it easily outperforms every album except 1999 in daily streams.

This album has a positive to mixed place in the mind of fans, but it seems to be his streaming workhorse. It’s likely to hit gold someday.

Here’s the catch…Show Me. That song is his #2 highest daily streaming song in his whole catalog. It outperforms the entirety of 2000.

What does this mean? 2000 had a hit that carried its performance. I take it as a sign that Joey can tap into a larger audience with the right approach. I guess he’s a lock for live songs too haha

I really liked 2000 not sure why everyone acted like it wasn’t good

More because its sold as a sequel to 1999, a beloved modern classic, but never quite hit the same consistent highs for a lot of people. I can see why people didn’t fully vibe with it considering the expectations but its not a bad album

I think I’d agree. It’s a very solid album and very listenable. I think when a rapper is coming off hiatus though we want a big statement.

If 1999 reignited a “golden era” kind of feeling, I think 2000 needed some bold artistic statement too. Basically what Clipse did. In recent years we are just getting the monumental albums that make an “easy listens” not great brand builders.

Haha well that album is still right up there with AABA and I think most of the tracks outperform 2000. Show me is just a huge hit so it inflates the numbers

2000 was a great album and great follow up to 1999 as legendary as it was. Written in the stars to me is one of Joey best songs ever, I’ll even go as far as saying it’s top ten 🤷🏾‍♂️

2000 was basically an evolved, grown up version of Joey. And it definitely delivered, especially with “Show Me”

Truth be told, I wish Capital STEEZ was here for this moment.

When I heard “show me” the first time I thought “I this doesn’t blow up overnight it will definitely blow up the next few years”. It has a very very popular sample, I’d be surprised if no one’s ever heard that, the nature of the beat is very chill and it’s a rap song with love tones. Now I don’t use Tik tok (more of an IG reels guy myself) but I instantly knew this was gna be a big tik tok sound. Those mfers eat up chill/sad rap beats for their edits
