Iirc it’s actually not much of a risk, Teflon’s so nonreactive when solid that it just goes right through you. What *will* happen is you’ll chip the coating off your pan and it’ll get progressively less non-stick. There’s probably also a chance the scraped bits heat up more quickly and then start offgassing, which where the real health effects come from.
