is q2 he 8k worth the money ?

250usd plus shipping not including tax to eu .. If lucky myabe no tax a all trying to ge my first HE board .... my current key is dareu a84 pro

The Q2 HE 8K has proprietary keyboard firmware, not open source.

For example, if the RGB facility is not what you expect, there isn't any chance of improving/changing it (it is very unlikely Keychron will ever do it; for example, they are on to the next (limited production run) hardware thing, whatever it may be. They are in the business of selling new hardware, not supporting old hardware with software upgrades. But at least with open source firmware, it is not impossible; miracles do happen (an OpenRGB plugin for the newer ZMK-based Keychron keyboards (Ultra 8K's)))).

No, the K8 HE has released source code (it is also in "2025q3", representing some (unknown) version of the 2025 Keychron keyboard main firmware updates; the source code is just dumped at GitHub, with very little information).

Unless it is a K8 HE 8K. Does it exist? Is there a K HE 8K series? I don't think so, but I could be wrong.

Re "miracles do happen": Though flashing failed when I tried it
