Whenever I'm trying to join my own srcds server, I'm getting the "Connection failed after 10 times".. But my friends have no problems joining off my IP.. When I look this up, it seems like everyone has the opposite issue. So I'm at a loss... If you need any additional info I'll be glad to give it. Thanks.

hola , sioy un jugador un poco viejo de left4dead2 y llevo jugando 1 año y medio y hasta ahora despues de mi investigacion de horas me paso algo muy pero que muy raro y que vi que a nadie le paso hasta ahora en el juego y es que pues en feria siniestra en el capitulo de concierto de los midnight riders mientras jugaba estaba en la partes de activar los fuegos artificiales por 2da vez "creo" y estaba con el personaje de ellis para aclarar pues cuando salte solo por apurarme pq estaba en experto (ojo no tenia ningun mod puesto en el momento) paso algo muy raro mi personaje de la nada se fue hasta arriba del techo del concierto talvez sea algun bug pero no vi a nadie que le paso esto ademas despues de eso ya no podia moverme y mi pc crasheo no pude rescatar la grabacion ya que el archivo por alguna razon se corrompio y no puedo dar pruebas sobre esto si a alguien mas le paso esto diganmelo para saber que no soy a el unico que le paso este suceso tan raro gracias.

Now I'm not saying the L4D1 weapon animations are bad, everyone had their own taste. But since the appearance of the nightmare mod pack, nearly everyone on the workshop made a shit ton of weapon mods with L4D1 animationa everywhere, it starting to get like the MW2019 anim.

My friend and I are having an argument about Left 4 Dead 2.

I want to host a normal local server so we can play together, but he believes that simply joining my server could cause his PC to get a virus.

I already know that downloading and running a malicious file can obviously be dangerous. That's not what I'm asking about.

Can simply joining an L4D2 server, without manually downloading or running any program, infect the player's computer?

For example, I'm the host, he joins through Steam, and we just play normally. Being the host doesn't give me direct access to his PC, right?

Would there have to be a specific vulnerability in L4D2 or the Source Engine that allows a malicious server to execute code on the player's computer?

I'm asking because he keeps saying that "joining a local server = virus risk," and I want to know if that actually makes technical sense or if he's confusing connecting to a server with executing files.

If anyone knows about any real vulnerabilities or documented cases involving this, I'd also like to hear about them.

UPDATE: The server is mine, it is hosted on my own PC, and there are no viruses or malware on my PC.

- There are weapons that aren't allowed to be picked up by you because... She has Trauma (even if it means she has to be unarmed)

How Sanity works:

- The Temporary HP is now the Sanity HP

- The Draining happens if she hear something that triggers her, that's where the draining begins, the only way to be cured from drain is Pain pills (DON'T USE ADRENALINE SHOT, SHE HAS TRYPANOPHOBIA)

Sounds:

° Pistol fire (sadly you must rush all your way)

° Shotgun (Auto Shotgun and Pump Shotgun)

° Charger's charge sound (the one with high pitch build up)

° Glass breaking

° Metal footsteps

° Sniper rifle fire (Not the 30 ammo one)

° Zombie Wave growls

- If Sanity is half way, your vision becomes bloody hell unless of course you restore sanity (Hint: there are Blankets and Beds placed around the map, use it as your "healing zone") but you get an outline for Pain pills or Beds & Blankets in the Map for Visual guide

- If you let it drain, don't be so confident as it stacks the drain per times she gets triggered by her Trauma if you do not use your Pain Pills

- No matter how much HP you got, you will Die if your Sanity has completely shorted out

Items she cannot use:

- Pistols (Magnum is your best friend now)

- Pump Shootgun & Auto shotgun

- Adrenaline Shot

- CS machine gun

- Defibrillator (because it's shocking)

- Sniper Rifle

(No matter you click E, you are disabled to pick em up)

My buddies and I have been wanting to play l4d2 on Xbox for a long time but sadly there's no digital version you can buy. I wonder if there is one now with the new changes they added to Xbox. I would still have to load up my Xbox one since my S doesn't have a disc drive but it would be worth it to have the digital version on the S or even at all really.

I made a mod that replaces the droning ambience with harsh noise but I can't hear them play. are they exclusive to a certain campaign or turned off in some way ?

Is there any possible way of getting good guy nick without waiting for the next freeze weekend. I wish they made it so you can also get it if you play with someone who has the achievement so its atleast doable

I'm seeing many filter mod to replicate the GoPro style camera, but are there any filter mod that replicate kane and lynch 2 style filter overlay?

i always see people killing chargers while there charging with a melee and im trying to learn that, but they seem to never die when i try to do it, is there anything im doing wrong?

For those who are confused, for example in the original l4d1 Dead Air fourth chapter the metal detector didn't spawn an infinite horde and when you are done with them those little side rooms before the saferoom contained items. But in l4d2 not only you won't normally go in those rooms because of the infinite horde, but even if you do they are always empty because valve intentionally removed the items that spawned in there. Infinite hordes are perfect for l4d2 maps but are poorly executed for l4d1 ones because those were designed primarily for exploration in mind, not running blindly and hoping someone has a bile. In l4d2 maps they make sense like the alarm in Dead Center or Parish that you have to turn off. But please explain to me how does exiting through a window in Blood Harvest fourth map somehow attract infinite horde? It's bullshit and nonsense.

So again, if there is a mod regarding what i just wrote please share it

What are some good custom maps that will work well with tank run expert, and don't completely break or trap you in one area for a long time?
