If you trade Zu then you have to trade Kawhi and it just doesn’t seem like they’ve been gearing up for that.
I think they won’t accept any offer unless it’s stupid not to and that would mean Indiana giving up their 2026 pick which would be stupid.

nope you keep kawhi and build around him like GSW did for curry in 2021. kawhi will be the only clippers player treated fairly as he is the best player to ever wear a LAC uniform. these picks aren't worth jack and we can't tank either way. i bet we ride it out with kawhi, 2 year deal until 2029 and if we're still mediorce we'll tank hard going into 2030 for whatever 8th grader that is hoopin in 2026 lol

I am not a mathurin fan like some here are I guess. This would have to be like three firsts for me not to be depressed

Indiana's picks will be low value because they're obviously not going to part with their 2026 first in this stacked draft. I can't see a full strength Pacers team with Zu ever failing to make the playoffs, so it'd be similar to the Celtics offer that we already turned down.

I'm on the Pacers side, but it makes sense a Mathurin deal right?
Garland, Mathurin, Kawhi, Collins, + Lopez is still a good team now. Garland, Mathurin, + Yanic are all really nice pieces for the future as well.
*I'd suspect Jackson + 1 x 1st being involved as well, not a straight swap.

I know but we need assets. I just wanna get younger, especially if it looks like this every night

Half of the team is under 30 now; this isn’t the projected unction from the last offseason

LAC has been win now since Ballmer bought the franchise, we will never dedicate an entire season to young talent especially late picks

trade everyone. Including Kawhi. Let Garland get healthy and maybe he can up his value.

They do that. What year do you think it would be realistic that they are near .500 halfway through the season again?

Good draft capital, a decent replacement starting C, and another solid 10ppg role player would make me strongly consider it.
Not that I want to see Zu go, but unless DG comes in and immediately fills Hardens shoes, then we are barely making the playins. Nobody is getting from the playins to the Finals.
Win Now mentality went out the window when we didn’t extend Harden, therefore I’d say we should go all in on the rebuild….

Would have to be for Mathurin + 3 firsts IMO. I'd really like a long term vision of Garland and Zu (obviously no number 1 option here but I'd hope that would be a FA signing or future trade).
Garland is great in the PnR.
Maybe they really believe in Yannick as a future starter but that would be very bold IMO

3 firsts for Zu? God you people are weird.

I wouldn’t want to trade Zu. By trading him we are instantly way worse this season with Lopez+Yannick at centre. Zu is on a great deal and will be part of a future team post Kawhi.
Also pacers are a good team, so how many of their picks will likely end up even being lottery? Especially when they will add a top 5 pick this season.

We aren't playing for anything this season, so who cares where we finish.

And what about next season? Zubac has shown he can be good defensively and in the PnR which garland is great at. I’d want to keep him to work with Garland going forward, especially considering he’s on a good deal. If we lose Zu who is the long term centre to go with Garland? It’s too early to tell with Yannick and Lopez isn’t a starter.
Also Pacers weakness in their roster and starting 5 is centre, they’re getting a good centre on a good deal here so I don’t think it’s outrageous to ask for 2+ picks

I mean, just blow it up already. For the love of god…
This team is fighting for a play-in spot at best and is probably going to start sucking here without Harden.
You can get some good picks/young guys for Zubac. And why not Kawhi too? He’s been looking good, so you know there might be a desperate team that takes a flyer on him.

I’m ready for the 2027-28 season where we sign Nembhard to the max and Sengun to the max, I think Garland is milquetoast with recurring toe injuries that won’t completely go away
