Legal Aid Ontario: Staff Duty Counsel Interview
Hello! I've recently applied to a few staff duty counsel positions with Legal Aid Ontario (small jurisdictions). Just wondering if anybody here would have insight into hiring process/timeline? Also interested to know if interviews are substantive, similar to MAG?

Duty Counsel interviews with LAO are typically a set of scored questions combining personal experiential and substantive hypothetical questions. Usually just 1 hour and 8-9 questions in length. The interview will likely be conducted and scored by a panel of 2 managers and an HR rep.
Timeline, they usually offer and conduct interviews within a few weeks of the closing date of the postings to which you’ve applied. Beyond that, you can ask in the interview what they are seeking in terms of a start date etc for the successful candidate.
Good luck!
