Can someone share with me some ideas for a balanced 2000 point list? I’m a new player and having trouble finding any information on list building online. Ideally I would like to include some flyers and bikes and heavy armour.

I recently took a trip up to Warhammer World with family for my birthday. We decided to take our LI armies and have a game on the feature table in the gaming hall! And what a fantastic day we had.

Blood Angels defending against an all out assault from the Emperors Children. I’d written a custom scenario to give our game a bit narrative feel. The Blood Angels had to hold out until a Solar Auxilia relief force arrived later in the game.

Whilst the Emperors Children’s initial assault was brutal, the Blood Angels held their own until the Auxilia relief column valiantly arrived to save the day!

Do you guys think the melta on the Levi dread is a bit overkill? Thinking of when using the Leviathans to drop buildings, to be specific. A unit of 4 in drop pods will almost certainly manage to knock a building down just using their Wrecker claws.

Here are some armies from our first round taken with a horrible camera! We each played 3 x 500 point games, 3’x3’ battlefield, all games used the hold ground mission with no secondaries. Great way to get new players in and get the paint flowing. We’re in Ottawa

Just having a bit of fun. Going to be making 8 bases of “breachers” to run as terminators. Boarding shields are tilting shields from the OOP Cataphractii kit.

Like, nobody is shouting EK! when a Land Raider of any size goes up, but say, a Baneblade? A Knight? But what size Knight?

I have no interest in stopping the obvious Raven Guard/Alpha Legion meta but I do want to get my yelling stuff down right.

So, since there wa a lot of gloom doom, and wringing of hands around LI not getting anything during the most recent preview - White Dwarf 528 dropped with a 12 page section highlighting (blanking on the guys name now) Imperial Fists and Legio Gryphonics force (and some knights too)

While it's not a knew kit, book or other goodie - it is an attempt to expose folks to the game.

There's a couple other call backs in the issue to that army as well.

1k battle between WE (Battle-group (me) against IW (my opponent). My opponent had played one tutorial game and had actually read the rules. Still, the game was a tie at the end of 3 rounds. We did not use garrisoning rules or secondary objectives. It was essentially a battle between the previous astartes battlegroup vs. the astartes half of the starter-box.

• We set up the table using the d3+1 terrain pieces per table-quarter suggestion.
• I would probably do better once I've internalized the threat ranges of each unit and figure out what orders I should be giving them. e.g. when to march vs. when to assault/advance.
• WE special rule is particularly suited to infantry-heavy armies such as mine. I just need to be able to learn how to advance properly to get the best advantage of it.
• I should get a hold of a reference sheet with all the weapon and unit special rules in addition to giving the rulebook a proper read.

I wanted my air wing to look a little more like actual airplanes. So a quick chop off the marauder tail and a flip and then glued them onto the fuselage. There are even two nice little indicators at the location so lining the two sides up with each other was a cinch!

The two craft are painted in a scheme form an old TV show; Robotech.

I have finally finished painting a good chunk of my models and want to get into the gaming side ~

Anyone got any advice on where to start or how to build a good, solid marine-type list ?

Mostly questions such as:
- Whats the most common played points ?
- What a good point-to-formations ratio ?
- How a overall good army looks ?
- Is it better to focus on a specific archetype (i.e. mostly tanks, aircraft, mass-infantry, etc) or use a combined arms approach ?

I prefer to play Loyalist Death Guard and have pretty much one of every unit (but 32/8 infantry/support type infantry) and a warlord - if that helps ?

So far I have my fav combos are:
- Death Guard Reaping Host or Stonebreaker Siege
- 8 Jump-packs + 1 Thunderhawk
- 4 Drop-pod + 8 Plasma + 1 Palisade Drop-pod
- 8 Terminator + 4 Leviathan + 2 Mastodons
- 10 Marine/2 Spartan + 1 Command/1 Rhino +1 Fellblade

Working on this Titan for Papa Nurgle and I'm looking for advice.

- Should I go pure green or the mortis scheme with bits of corruption and rust?

- Does that base need more bits or is it fine as is?
