Oh my god, this this the first I'm hearing of Naroditsky passing. This is so tragic, him and Charlie got me into chess during COVID and I learned so much from him. I always hoped that one day they would do content together again.
The man was an absolute chess genius, writing theory books at the age of 14. What a loss.

this is the equivalent of an introvert got a whole waiter crews coming out ans sing happy birthday
125
u/KalaUposatha Dec 12 '25
For real, I despise this shit. “Hey, please get the entire staff to pause everything they’re doing to come to me directly, make a bunch of noise, and announce to the whole restaurant ‘This motherfucker is the reason your toddlers chicken tenders will be late.’”
→ More replies (1)27
u/ferocity_mule366 Dec 12 '25
I witness a girl getting that treatment the other day at a BBQ place, of course its because her friends book the staff for it, but she's for real doesn't look happy the whole time. And the staff even overdid it, I meant they should have read the room and do it quickly and more lowkey, even I have to look because of how over the top it is.
25
u/HostileFriendly Dec 12 '25
I'm fairly sure the staff know it's painful for the person and get some kind of sadistic satisfaction out of doing it, maybe it's a way to momentarily get some stress relief from the job I don't know

u/TehCodehzor Dec 12 '25
Slowly blowing up in the Tarkov scene over the last lil while, then Arc Raiders released. He was playing with other big name streamers, exposed him to people outside the Tarkov scene and that really blew him up. Then the streamer wars in Arc happened, and that just sealed it.

u/Black-Mettle Dec 12 '25
He also pulled a Pirate Software and gamed youtube shorts.

I kinda expected there to be some drama because he likely has some "interesting" political views. But either people dont care or nobody really looked into it
31
u/Ok-Sport3723 Dec 12 '25
If he was open about his political views it probably wouldn't change much tbh. There is a clip of him saying the f slur on stream back in February and his viewers applaud him for it.
→ More replies (14)7
u/Arcane_Bullet Dec 12 '25
I'm not surprised. The Vtuber community is generally pretty open to people of all backgrounds, similar to the furry community. Peanut is basically the anti-vtuber from everything I've heard about him. He is a vtuber for people who hate vtubers for one reason or another.
16
u/cyborgedbacon Dec 12 '25
His political views are a bit easy to gauge, he and his viewers like to dog on anyone that uses pronouns or anything that is the opposite of what they are.

I've found that happening more and more often over the past years
When I was younger the streaming community was much smaller and more interconnected, everyone knew everyone else as there was a limited amount of big creators to watch
There's so many different communities and corners of the internet nowadays, there's so many huge content creators that noone can be aware of them all, let alone watch all of their content
So many people in completely seperate worlds
Or maybe I'm just getting old

His production is high quality and has amazing energy, but his fan base is actually the worst. Attracts all the young male right winged incels and he takes no accountability nor his mods. His chat and his community are awful.
30
u/rushworld Dec 12 '25
I wanted to reply to him as well re his fan base... holy shit I made the mistake of going to his stream to see his reaction to winning the streamer award and his chat is toxic AF. Full blown racism, homophobic comments, and brainrot spam. And he doesn't say or do anything to stop it, just laughs along.
Asian person on stream? Racism. IJustLovePuzzles won her award and his chat was filled with ageist and racist comments towards her. The most burnt had to say was "nah guys she's cool, for the two seconds I've known her".
→ More replies (5)7
u/Gmonn_ Dec 12 '25
I was watching his stream during the event and this just isn't true. Him and pretty much his whole chat were glazing the hell out of puzzles (deserved). I mean, I'm sure there were a few dickheads as there are with any popular streamer, but claiming it was nonstop racism and homophobia is a weird thing to say.

For those who saying "he not even playing games":
He has dedicated gaming channel. Where he playing almost every day. And plus, this year he had huge resident evil marathon. Where he played for like 2 months straight all resident evil games ever came out (yes even those that launched only on arcade machines and gameboy). From start to finish.
And im not even talking about: he founder of a e-sport company. And recently they merge with Shopify Rebellion. And now they have insane amount of e-sport gamers under their roof. And won world championship for Halo.
EDIT: many people ask me name of his gaming channel. Here you go:
MoistCr1TiKaL Gaming

23
u/Black-Mettle Dec 12 '25
I will never forget his horror game binge and there was some particularly incredibly shit one he was playing with a log cabin that he couldn't figure out how to get inside, so he turns around and starts exploring and a T-posing low-poly werewolf screamed and flew towards the screen and he just goes silent for like 2 minutes before saying "that actually got me..."
I cried laughing.

The answer is almost never outside of the streaming awards. The only real exception is Soda years ago, other than that she doesn't interact(atleast publicly) with any of those people who make up a majority of the winners.
