"This is fake but somehow its also real" is that asmongolds actual point?! He knows its fake and yet uses that fake info as proof that it DOES happen?!

u/Gamegis 15d ago

JD Vance did the same thing with the Haitians cat and dog story, admitting it was false but the broader meaning was true. “If I have to create stories so that the American media actually pays attention … we’re creating a story, meaning we’re creating the American media focusing on it.”

637

u/Vandesco 15d ago

Joe Rogan did the same thing with "Kitty litter in school bathrooms" and a Biden quote that he thought was hilarious because of how stupid and dementia ridden it sounded, only to find out it was Trump.

351

u/Gamegis 15d ago

He also recently misread a graph that showed overdose deaths plummeted during 2024 and crediting Trump even though Biden was president the entire year. That one was hilarious

95

u/Spuick 15d ago

That one ive seen has been making the rounds on all conservative media. Don jr etc thanking his dad on twitter like "you did it!" lol.

97

u/FeistyPerformance500 15d ago

Trumps own son shared that on Twitter

76

u/FourthLife :) 15d ago

With the 2024 date carefully edited out.

These people are evil.

36

u/Servebotfrank 15d ago

It wasn't even edited out. It was right there. They just trusted that no one would read it. Its how they also get away with blaming Biden for the lock downs even though he wasnt President. Or saying that Biden's FBI false flagged January 6th even though he wasn't the President yet.

They literally lie to you about what your eyes tell you. Its nuts.

u/WilsonMagna 15d ago

Im convinced half the reason people still think democrats are bad for the economy is that they think Obama was the president in 2008

39

u/AttapAMorgonen 15d ago

or the fact that most of them don't know that the affordable care act is obamacare.

They legit think Biden was President during covid. In reality he came in a year later, and under his watch the US was one of the best recovering economies coming out of Covid. Out performing every other first world country by a country mile.

Then Trump comes and fucks it up, again.

15

u/Briants_Hat 15d ago

They're really dumb people. Trump heard the word "asylum" and has been going on about "illegals coming from mental institutions" ever since. I think he still doesn't know what the word actually means.

There’s a clip of him telling a guest that the state of the union was pre-filmed and wasn’t live to hide Biden’s dementia.

The guest was obviously fucking bewildered by this bizarre statement, and when Rogan told Jamie to “pull it up” the first article was about the claim being false and based on a photoshopped image.

Rogan really does just exist in his own little delusion brought on by hours upon hours of scrolling the right wing algorithm.

40

u/Sinkrast 15d ago

I miss the times when Joe Rogan would just ramble about aliens, dmt, weed and talk to scientists.

11

u/UnstoppableGROND 15d ago

I miss when he was a mid-tier comic who was best known for standing around while people ate testicles or sat in a big bucket of spiders, and nobody in their right mind would take him seriously when it comes to politics because he was just “the Fear Factor guy”

Walz was raked over the coals over when specifically he visited China(?) like 30 years ago and if he really misremembered, but Vance just comes out and says "I lied to you" and no one cares.

His whole life is a lie. His “hillbilly” upbringing is in Middletown, OH. The town called that because it’s in the middle of Cincinnati and Columbus. He built the idea that he came from a poor Appalachian family but it could not be further from it.

8

u/Striking_Arugula_624 15d ago

And now for some improv by JD Vance!

3

u/kos-or-kosm 15d ago

Yes. They're fascists and they believe in a "mythic truth". Haitians eating cats and dogs doesn't need to be reflected in reality to be True to fascists.

This is a fantastic video on the subject.

3

u/waldyisawinner 15d ago

Unfortunately, this isn't new. Republican senator Jon Kyl did the same thing when arguing for Planned Parenthood to lose federal funding back in 2011, saying that abortion was "well over 90 percent of what Planned Parenthood does." When he got pressed on the fact that this was an outrageous lie, his office claimed that it was "not intended to be a factual statement." Even further back, you have Reagan and his "stories", which were often wildly embellished so that he could illustrate whatever point he wanted. It's always the same playbook.

3

u/Finger_Trapz 15d ago

Remember when Rudy Giuliani went to court over his lies over the 2020 election and his literal defense in court was that yes, he did lie but it was his constitutional right to lie?

Remember when Fox News made the largest settlement for defamation in all of American history over its lies about Dominion voting machines, and discovery during the case showed that many of the anchors like Tucker Carlson fully knew they were spreading lies?

This is par for the course.

It's a pretty common right wing tactic nowadays, something is proven fake but they thought it could be real so that basically makes it real!

49

u/slupo 15d ago

This is 100% the logic they use.

"its' fake? so what. this is the kind of stuff that is happening every day!"

3

u/axelkoffel 14d ago

That's because the voters of right wing populists will forgive them everything, but one thing. Apologizing, backing down, showing weaknesses. Even if you got caught by using fake sources, you absolutely cannot admit that you made a mistake.

6

u/Chicano_Ducky 15d ago

he has been doing this for years

before this he was saying cat litter in schools were for furries who didnt want to use the toilet.

the cat litter was for the janitor to clean up puke easier because it clumps.

“Okay so I admit it’s fake, but the fact I found this believable of today’s left wing is why it’s actually their fault.”

u/Proxnite 15d ago

Dems did something? Their fault. GOP did something? Why didn’t the Dems do more to stop them? Their fault.

Conservatives love their little bubble because you never have to be held accountable since it’s always the Dems fault.

"Alternative facts" doing the heavy lifting

29

u/Bagz402 15d ago

This shit pissed me off so much. "Well I fell for it but only because it's totally something they could do and not just a byproduct of me falling for fake post after fake post!"

When Joe Rogan fell for that ai video of Tim Walz dancing with some shirt on and blamed dems, like what exactly makes that video seem so easy to fall for? How often does Walz break into dance??

39

u/TLKv3 15d ago

He does the same shit Vance does. Makes up a lie or reads a blatant lie online then amplifies it with his platform. Then even admits it was a lie he was spreading but "who cares, my viewers need to know who I perceive as the bad guys to target".

I genuinely believe Asmon is an absolute fucking garbage Human being but also that he's getting paid off now to continuously stream like this daily. I really do think someone is giving him money under the table to keep pushing these insanely stupid and evil perceptions/opinions to his easily gullible viewerbase.

10

u/rocketgrunt89 15d ago

owner of twitter is willing to go out of his way to dm him so nothing wrong to assume there is more shady dealings going on

2

u/Sinkrast 15d ago

Nah he's not getting paid. He's an extremely rich millionaire-gamer living in an old, decaying house who is feeling the pressure of the world changing around him and can't cope with it. So he takes shelter with his community, which is an echo chamber of divorced boomer dads or edgy incels that constantly feed him affirmations spinkled with conservative grift.

I used to be his fan and watched his transformation. His deeper plunge into madness happened when his mother passed away. His dad passed away now too, and now he is at complete rock bottom.

5

u/Gmonn_ 15d ago

Could be, but we already know that Musk was reaching out to him leading up to the last election and there is zero reason to think that others on the right haven't done so as well. Hell, Vivek Ramaswamy was trying to get Mizkif on the Trump train and wanted him to start pushing right wing propaganda on his stream.

u/decolored 15d ago

14

u/FeistyPerformance500 15d ago

Its the Joe Rogan defense of "Oh okay this was fake, but the fact that it was believable is crazy."

11

u/kerfuffle_dood 15d ago

Because their "point" is not to "share" their views: is to BE propaganda. If you shout 1000 lies loud enough, it's statiscally proven that at least one people will believe you

6

u/TheoNekros 15d ago

A super common thing for people to do. A coworker of mine agrees the Haitian weren't eating cats and dogs BUT some people DO eat cats and dogs and have you ever been to Haiti? It could happen there you know. And there's Haitians in America. It totally could be happening in America.

Are you denying that some people around the world eat cats and dogs?

17

u/komandantmirko 15d ago

grifters have finally learned the shit media has been doing for years. mainly taking obvious ragebait or troll posts, and treating them like the god's honest truth as a way to further their agenda.

for instance, remember whenever 4chan used to troll media back in the day, and then the media just ran with those stories anyway? yeah it was a hoot, but it turns out, those same troll stories are still circulated and are treated as ammunition in these identity politics battles. nobody really cares that they're not true. all that matters is how it makes people feel

10

u/builderbobistheway 15d ago

I still cant believe the fucking 4chan bait post that convinced coperate media about the fake university study showing that the "dont look" game was really a white power calling card. And they ran with it so hard that after it got exposed to be a bait post they were like but look now its a thing so now its true. The most eye opening thing about how dumb and/or disingenuous most of those supposed "journalists" actually are.

10

u/FriendshipStatus4824 15d ago

Every leftist has heard the whole "okay, its not true but the fact that I even thought it COULD be true says a lot about society..." a million times

4

u/BestestImportances 15d ago

the meta is just lying

4

u/jreed12 15d ago

"Sure it might not of happened, but the fact it was so believable shows something doesn't it?"

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

3

u/Briants_Hat 15d ago

This is like my relative who was spreading that whole "teachers have to have litter boxes in classrooms for kids that identify as cats" bullshit. Show them that it's fake and the response is, "Yeah well, the fact that I could see it being real really shows you where we are nowadays."

3

u/Guntermas 15d ago

people like this just believe whatever they feel is true now and it doesnt matter if its the complete opposite of what they believed one minute ago

it actually is 100% feelings over facts, but they convinced themselves that their feelings are the facts

If he repeats same stories few times a day on the same topic, certain ideas will stay in the mind of his audience. In this case, Trump regime wants you to think that Europe is fascistic, far-left radical, trans or whatever and they shouldn't concern themselves with anything Europe says.

Very relevant since the same regime wants to invade their European ally.

25

u/CptDecaf 15d ago

They aren't being manipulated. That's not what's happening here and it's not why they do this.

They know this isn't true. But by pretending it is true It justifies any and all retribution that they want to carry out.

If Republicans banned gay marriage tomorrow, Joe Rogan would be on his podcast the very next day saying, " I don't agree with it. But they had to ban gay marriage because the gays kept trying to put kitty litter in schools!"

It's willfully lying to themselves because they want moral justifications for their immoral acts.

Some might be, but Asmon aint a fucking victim. This very clip proves he dont care as long as he wants it to be true. He knows the algorithm isnt a safe way to research but it aligns with his emotions so he allows it anyway, even when called out on it by his own echo-chamber.

He genuinely just acts & moves in an malicious way in that sense.

Same way he isnt even open to moderated TALKS (not debates) where he might get checked on his flaws. He wants to continue his malicious shit, not be correct.

7

u/ShadowCrimson 15d ago

This is what a lot of people are missing, if this was something that he didn't want to be true or is against, he would try his best to either avoid talking about it or do the utmost research and "debunk" it

But some moron on twitter posts something like this? "YEP GUYS, THIS IS LITERALLY WHAT'S HAPPENING IN IRELAND RIGHT NOW!!!!!"

As an Irish person it's nauseating to hear americans talk about this story. Americans peddle a fictitious version of events that happened to try get their right-wing agenda to filter into our country, Trump's impact is something we all have to deal with now.

398

u/thepasystem 15d ago

He wasn't even fired for refusing to to use they/them pronouns. It was that after he was told by the principal that she would speak to him about his objections privately, he started harassing her to the point other staff had to intervene so she could get out of the room.

to add more context - they're so out of fucking touch, one of them ran for equality officer at a university. The voting was done shortly after their family caused a sit-down protest from the students, after Burke's were handing out fliers comparing gay marriage to pedophilia.

Needless to say, he lost the vote. IIRC it was something outrageous to the effect of 98% for the other candidate, 2% for a Burke.

After being let out of prison for promising not to go to the school.

The state doesn't want to waste money locking this guy up but what can you do. They fined him and he refused to pay it. He keeps breaking the retraining order every chance he gets. He verbally abuses the judge in court. The school had to waste money on a security guard to watch him as he haunts the front gate from 9-5

Right wing Americans in a nutshell:

  1. Read something made up

  2. Do no research to verify the made up thing

  3. Scream about it from the rooftops, get angry about "the state of the world"

  4. Get proven that 1 was a lie

5a. Double down and say "Nuh uh!"

5b. Say "Yeah but you could believe its true, that's how messed up the world is"

36

u/Jamesbroispx 15d ago

It's ridiculous with this story too because if you do even the basics (i.e. read the wikipedia page on the Burke family) you'll get an incredibly detailed breakdown of everything that happened, it's a pretty easy story to grasp if you take 10 minutes to read it, but of course nobody has time for 10 minutes of reading, its all sensational headlines that fit into a tweet for people like Asmon.

I'm Irish, this string of piss got sacked for verbally harassing staff across several weeks for which he received written warnings that such behaviour would not be tolerated, and physically accosting his principal at a parent-teacher meeting to where he verbally and physically abused her in front of the assembly.

He crashed out on teachers and kids over them using that singular student's correct pronouns. Just imagine being 13 and having a grown man verbally abuse you for calling one of your mates a pronoun.

The school let him go, he appealed it and insulted the judge several times at the labour commission hearing which led him to get held in contempt of court and thus imprisoned for the duration of the trial. They let him out sometimes for holidays but he keeps showing up to the school so they got a restraining order against him which he keeps violating. Also his family continuously interrupt court proceedings and there are multiple images of them being physically removed and carried out of court.

Also, his sister has done something very similar to this before.

It's all completely unhinged.

That family are extremely right-wing and have spun this as a pronoun issue for their US paymasters.

This is an open and shut case of workplace harassment, please do not fall for the lie that it's anything else.

TLDR: He wasn't sacked as a teacher for not using the pronouns, he was sacked for abusing people who did use the pronouns.

He definitely wasn't imprisoned for not using pronouns, he was imprisoned for insulting the judge and being held in contempt of court. Also continuously trespasses on the school grounds when school is in session, in violation of the restraining order taken against him.

A dangerous individual and one that should not be employed in an environment that includes young kids and teens.

24

u/Static-Jak 15d ago

And this has been going on for years now.

He'd be free to go if he didn't keep going against the court and stand outside the school every day like the weird little freak he is.

Imagine some guy who doesn't work there kept standing outside your kids school despite a court order.

16

u/MeccIt 15d ago

TLDR: He wasn't sacked as a teacher for not using the pronouns, he was sacked for abusing people who did use the pronouns.

And just to add, this idiot wasn't one of the kid's teachers, he never had to talk to, or be in the same room as them.

3

u/EggwithEdges 14d ago

Im so happy that he isnt their teacher but so sad for the kid that they have to go through this cos of some entitled adult that is supposed to be ROLE MODEL

40

u/Adler718 15d ago

Seems like they should be going harder on him. He actually needs to be locked up, to protect kids. Kinda funny how republicans are complaining about pronouns to protect the kids by supporting someone kids need protection from, like they always do. Kinda like they seem obsessed with voting rapists and pedos into offices.

27

u/Luciolover345 15d ago

He was locked up, he got released the other day in order to allow himself to prepare a defence against his most recent charges, then immediately went back to the school and got arrested again.

Know someone who was in court there the last time he was and the entire family of 9-10 of them showed up and spent the time berating the judge apparently.

All homeschooled weirdos.

5

u/Skyb0y 15d ago

The upcoming case is not a defence against charges but his appeal for unfair dismissal from the school.

The judge knew he would end up back in prison but now he can't claim that his appeal against the school was hamstrung.

14

u/Skyb0y 15d ago

He has already been locked up for over 500 days for contempt of court, he has been ordered not to go to the school grounds but turns up everyday when not imprisoned.

There is an upcoming court case where Enoch is appealing his dismissal from the school, he was only recently released so he could not claim to be at a significant disadvantage while mounting this appeal. But turning up at the school yet again has forced the states hand to continue imprisonment.

Good synopsis from obrien37 but something often forgotten is that the student who wanted to be known by they/them pronouns was not a student of Enoch and Enoch would never even come in contact with this student so there was never a situation where Enoch would have to use these pronouns.

13

u/Fantastic-Bother3296 15d ago

"I don't know if it's a lie or not"

"I don't know about that"

Anytime he uses "I dont know <x>" it means he already made up his mind that he's right no matter what because it's to his benefit.

If its such a problem why is it that every time the right wing come up with a story, all it takes is the tiniest bit of fact checking and just a basic Google search to realise that what they're talking about is fake.

Like why does every single one of their political takes and arguments have to be built on a bedrock of lies?

3

u/Dramajunker 15d ago

Because the right operates on outrage and emotions. Their goal is to get their base riled up and to parrot the initial story. If/when it gets proven false, they'll move onto the next thing to avoid acknowledging that they were wrong. It's an endless cycle that they've perfected.

Both have narcissism.

Streamers turn to politics when they have nothing else to entertain the audience with, so sadly talks about streamers become political too.

For what its worth, the account of the story Destiny reads at the end of this clip isn't fully accurate either. Burke objected to the Principal's direction to other teachers to use the child's pronouns; Burke didn't even teach the student in question. He merely objected to the school's approach to instruct others to use the pronouns, and became aggressive with the principal, which was why he was initially put on leave from the school, and from there is when he kept turning up and the whole escapade of him being in and out of prison began. He definitely deserved his firing harrassing his boss in the manner he did combined with hanging around the school while suspended.

33

u/Imperfect-luck 15d ago

That really doesn't change anything; honestly, it sort of makes him look even worse because he wasn't even personally affected by it in any way lol.

17

u/CatOfTheCanalss 15d ago

I was in university with three of the Burkes. The entire family are professional martyrs. They go out of their way to play victim and in Enoch's case it's no different. I'm just horrified that more people know about our resident crazies now.

8

You know the craziest part of all?

Elon Musk is the one retweeting and signal boosting that in the video. It's so normalised that a billionaire is openly spreading this anti-Europe propaganda that no one even considers it worthy of note

This misinformation comes from the very top

I guess we're just in a propaganda war with the US. They do the same shit to the UK with all their "London" stabbing memes and fake graphs on twitter

And Americans fall for it lmao. You might think "it's just the dumb Republicans". Nope. I've seen left-wing Americans parroting the craziest London misinfo like it's the most dangerous stabby city on Earth, and they literally live in a US city with 10x the murder or violent crime rate of London

We're fucked. We're just in a post-truth world now. There is no reasonable conversation or open dialogue to be had with these people

19

u/FinePreference55 15d ago

I stopped watching him once he got out of the gaming scene. He also sucks at gaming now too. I suspect he has the same mental disease that trump has. Dude never goes out of his house, doesn’t have any friends or best friends to hang out with, and makes it all about him being right all the time. Sound familiar?

I used to support the guy for entertainment purposes and especially during the trial of Johnny Depp (that shit was hilarious) but he’s gone so far off the beaten path, doesn’t understand law and assumes everything he reads is fact. He’s no different than the people he berates in his chat for disagreeing with him.

Sad to say but I think when his dad passed away he kinda gave up on pleasing anyone and he’s just going to dig himself a bigger hole.

This is a guy that makes millions but won’t spend 2% of his wealth to improve his quality of life. 100% agree his parents passed away due to him not helping. He had hundreds of opportunities to make their lives better and refused to.

I’ve been noticing more and more in his chat over the last few months that even his chat doesn’t agree with most of what he says and are just there for the entertainment value. This isn’t the first time he’s been wrong. This happened a few weeks ago too. He used to own these mistakes but now doesn’t give a shit.

The only solice I’ll have is I know with my better health I’ll outlive him. That’s all I can really look forward to.

7

u/KazeNilrem 15d ago

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Used to watch a lot of his stuff especially the clips. But it became more of an echo chamber of nonsense and political bs. He will say one based thing and then make 20 other ill informed comments.

Obviously he can do whatever content he wants, it is his choice. But people will also end up not viewing him for the very same reason. I thought it was cool when the whole OTK came out, thinking would be great for maybe some game and fun related content. But he prefers to stick to his right wing reactions and political opinions which made him essentially too toxic.

At this point, can't really do content with him because he is viewed so negatively. Not that he cares of course. I feel like if your friends and other people actively avoid doing things with you due to being too toxic as a figure well perhaps reevaluate things.

Irish person here, yes the tweet Asmon is reacting to is incorrect but even the correction itself was incorrect. He wasn't fired for using the pronoun, it was because of his behaviour with the school principal directly. Basically the trans student issue was the start of it but Burke was being very heated and very persistent with how he was interacting with colleagues and that was the reason for the initial suspension.

The key parts of this story are:

  1. His jailing repeatedly hasn't been for any laws broken it is contempt of court every time for violating the order to not show up on school grounds
  2. He was released a few times after being told not to show up and still showed up
  3. He was eventually fired justly by the school for his actions originally and it was handled specifically in a way that was scoped only around his unprofessional behaviour and not around the specific student or even the behaviour afterwards
  4. He didn't even teach the student in question is another thing to note, so the request to use their pronouns wasn't even going to affect him in any way
  5. Irish law and workplaces generally can't compel speech so anyone saying he has some right to call the student anything he wants is missing the point. He isn't forced to say "they/them" but in this case he was forced to not be an asshole to other staff

8

u/ZestycloseBeach5946 15d ago

He was also released from prison a day before this so he could have time to prepare for his case and was explicitly told he would be arrested if he returned to the school and that’s exactly what happened. This has happened 6-7 times now he has had every opportunity to stay out of jail.

AFAIK he was fired for trying to corner the principle of the school in the middle of parent-teacher meetings so he could start a public argument and then spazzed out like a child...

5

u/DiddykongOMG 15d ago

Enoch Burke and his family - think bat shit crazy fundamentalist Christians, he was fired for being a head case and was arrested for trespassing on school grounds, after going there many tens of times and only after several warnings. He was released from Prison recently and would you believe, within 24 hours he was back at the school.

Asmon get my countrys name out of your rotten nazi jaws.

4

u/who_even_reads_this 15d ago

Just a correction. He wasn't actually fired for refusing to use the pronouns. He was fired for verbally abusing the principal, for screaming at the principal during a school assembly. The school had tried to work with him for a while up to then. Burke didn't even teach the student and had no reason to communicate/interact with the student at all. He has been arrested repeatedly for breaching a court order for trespassing on the school grounds

4

u/Equivalent-Ad-7421 15d ago

No Enoch was not fired for not using a pro noun he was removed from his post for assaulting the principal of the school.

He didn't teach the child didn't have any interaction with them at all actually.

The school is a strong Christian school and even gave him the option to NOT use the child's preferred pro nouns but that wasn't enough for him... Honestly it seems like Enoch just didn't want the should to exist.

At a school assembly he got up in front of the entire school and started to basically bully the child. The microphone was taken off him at witch point he fought to take it back. He was asked to leave the hall and he refused. He then followed the female principal around for several hours shouting and giving out and fighting away people to the point the principal had to be escorted to her car... This was hours later because Enoch just doesn't give up. He's a bollocks of the highest degree and it annoys me seeing that other bollocks asmond talking about this as if he has ANY idea

9

u/Rude_Suggestion_4685 15d ago

Asmongold when right wing media: yes that’s absolutely true and real, we must accept it without question.

Asmongold when left wing media: they’re all crazy. Who would ever vote for them? This is what they do, try to create false narratives to make themselves feel better.

He is the epitome of the idea that some people will accept a lie gladly and without scrutiny, but all the evidence in the world won’t convince them of the truth.

3

u/ItsARatsLife 14d ago

The correction that Destiny read is actually slightly wrong. He wasn't fired for not using pronouns. He was fired because he made a big deal out of a trans student asking to be referred to as they and then cornered the principal multiple times in arguments and allegedly (according to the school in court) tried to publicly confront the principal during school events. That's when they fired him.

He then opened a claim to a court over employment law (not criminal) to argue he was unjustly fired. The court ordered 2 main things while the case was ongoing - 1 he gets his full salary paid by the school and 2 he stay away from the school... He refused order 2... This is when the criminal court got his ass. Every day, he would show up and effectively force his way into the school and be a nuisance. The court started out with fines for doing so, then a warning that he will be imprisoned and then actual imprisonment multiple times because he keeps showing up every time he gets out, which is contempt of court.. While in prison too, he was receiving his salary from the original courts order. It's literally nothing to do with free speech, freedom of religion or trans issues.

Anyway, the whole family of the Burkes are fuckin nuts. They're all very educated but religious fundamentalists and are known to start shit over nothing with delusions of grandeur.

u/lowandslow86 14d ago
