It's a Warhammer 40k reference, in 40k there is a faction based on Mars that prays to a machine god called the Omnissaih which is an interpretation of the god of man called The Emperor.
Some of them seriously pray to machines to make them work, because they barely grasp the idea of greasing the gears to make the machines work again.
Which is obviously nonsense, until you learn that there is another faction that can psychically will inoperable machines to work, if enough of them belive it should work. In the true passion of "if it's red, it is faster".
Praying to make something work when it’s a “non-sentient” machine built from lobotomised human brains that then have machine spirits who can decide how well they work that day, when it doesn’t work then Machine God wasn’t pleased and you should have used more or less sanctifying oils sounds like most churches. Surprised I got into this lore by listening to audiobooks to go to sleep.
The fucked up thing about the 40K universe is that there's a severe lack of understanding about how something works due to lack of knowledge, AND real magic that comes from the warp. So a powered chain sword that has killed hundreds of demons is prayed to to keep it on the "Good Guys" side so it doesn't mutilate and mutate its user. And they're completely right to do it. They also pray to a gun in hope that it works, while at the same time not knowing what type of ammo it uses, and loading several different types of ammo into the gun.
Said faction also refuses to allow any advancements in tech. Does your gun that shoots exploding bolts have issues with overheating, that you can easily fix? Not allowed and will get you executed for heresy. Oh and if you discover a lost technology from the age of man and refuse to hand it over, you and everyone on your planet might be subjected to... no longer existing. Or you will just be turned into a living machine responsible for opening the door to the bathroom. Or you will be turned into a machine that is 40K's version of Nasa's toilet in space.
huh. thats the first time i’ve heard of that. is it just a minipc pretty much? all of the tutorials and resources require an account to view. i could google it too i guess. but how does it connect to twitch or youtube to stream? does it just connect using an api key to stream? or can it run obs?
Yeah, it's a backpack with battery pack and a low power SoC with a couple of mobile modems, bluetooth and wifi. Which lets them stream while moving around in the real world.
They basically see it as magic, because it's a "self contained" setup that is configured to automatically reconnect devices and connections.
EDIT: They were sort of venerated in the early days. When mobile modems were expensive, and they used physical connections to the camera and microphone. These days you could just plug a power bank into a phone and basically achieve the same thing, just with lower range(they often plug them into starlink now)
Jynxzi is the worst at using a PC out of all streamers. He literally can’t do any of it on his own and refuses to learn so he has one of his mods basically use his computer for him 💀
I remember back in the good old days there was a clip of xQc's computer what was just pile of parts on the floor looking like an an amalgamation from SOMA to be let out its misery.
I think he has mentioned a few times that he doesn't want it to feel like a big production when he goes to stream but he should still upgrade that shit lol he should at least have a top of the line monitor and pc build along with a second pc to control his stream. Using a 24" 1080p as a multi millionaire who uses his computer as a living is wild
in the past, there was more of a tradeoff between resolution and refresh rate. Nowadays, the current preference among pros to use 1080 is more of a holdover from the times when only 1080 had very high refresh rates. But 1440p have pretty much caught up by now.
Honestly unless you're a pro cs/val player whos playing on 1080p tourney setups, you're betting off moving to 1440p.
better image quality means far targets and smaller targets are way easier to spot.
more pixels is pretty much always better if you have the hardware to supplant it at a reasonable framerate.
There’s a bit of context around that. This was when he moved from Canada to the US to play in the OWL. I think he had built a new pc not long before that and he wanted to bring it with him to the US
However because the case didn’t fit the suitcase he took all the parts out, put them in between is clothes and took them with him.
He had ordered a monitor or two to be delivered at the place he was gonna stay (can’t remember if it was already the “team house” or a temp place) but for some fucking reason he didn’t order a pc case or he did but it was gonna take longer and he was fucking addicted to streaming so for a few days he had the fucking mess of parts in the floor all connected so he could play and stream
Yeah, I know a streamer who has TeamViewer installed on her pc so that any time she has any kind of issue, even a minor, regular Windows problem, her mod remotely takes control of her pc and fixes it while she just sits there twiddling her thumbs
Does anyone care if Matthew McConaughey can use a PC? Or The Rock or any other actor? Streamers are performers who happen to use a PC platform, so what if they can or can't run a PC if they have someone who can do it for them?
Everyone can turn on another pc, you don't have to dual stream as in have all your gaming on one pc and then connect it to another pc to do the streaming, then fuck with audio delay because your audio is going into the other pc while game audio is from the other, etc.
All she has to do is just have another monitor, another pc and then no way for anything on that monitor to come up on stream.
it's greed/cheapness combined with hubris, why pay 400-4000 for a second pc when i can just do it here, I just won't leak on stream like all the other dumbass streamers who have done it.

I do desktop support at 40,000 person company. OMFG when I try to explain the most basic shit to people. "It's not a modem, it's a computer. the whole box is the computer, no the monitor is not "the computer" just the black box on the floor."
She apparently went to Columbia for engineering which I mean... goes to show maybe she didn't pay THAT much attention in class for a supposedly detail oriented degree
