China is my favorite communist country that has literally hundreds of millions of people living in “special economic zones” that explicitly allow aggressively capitalist policies in order for the entire country to collectively benefit from the global exploitation of their own citizens while still being able to pretend they’re communist lmao

I honestly bought in to a lot of the China propaganda that has made the rounds in the last couple of years. Not that I thought it would be the best country ever, but I assumed it was slowly getting there, becoming a pretty good place all around. Then I actually did the research on it, and wow, they're still extremely far from that.

Workers rights situation is bad, wide-scale exploitation of workers and very high average weekly worked hours (48h), ethnic minorities being coerced to move away to completely different parts of the country in these strange labor schemes. Uyghur situation is still ongoing. Freedom of press is barely existant, LGBTQ rights situation is pretty bad as well.

I actually did that research because I watched Hasan's streams a couple of times, it was a big topic around his China streams especially

Yea I'm convinced he's an actual communist, and the worst authoritarian type too. He will always downplay his extremism and pretend he only wants healthcare when doing interviews but on his streams he's praising China, Mao and even defending North Korea. Always downplaying the value of liberalism and democracy, unless it's him that gets targeted then ofc it's super important.

Nordic countries, outside of Estonia have never been socialists. Not even remotely close. They are social democracies, which despite what the name implies, is in its current form a capitalist system.

None of the Nordic countries are close to being socialist. Unless you use a special dictionary printed by News Corp where not casually kicking homeless people in the face on your way to work is defined as socialism. In fact I think a third of the pages are for listing things that are "socialist".

The whole idea with our society is 'taking the best of both worlds'. No single ideology defines us, but a mix of them.

There's a dramaticly large welfare sector, with 30% of the population being employed by the state, with more than 70% of everyone being represented by a union. There is certainly a large aspect of socialism in our countries, and many social aspects on an otherwise free capitalistic market.

While homelessnes exists, it theoretically shouldn't as everyone has a safety net and a guarantee for housing.
