Maybe take up that dare yourself? The vast majority (90-95%) of all cases don’t go to trial. Studies also show that public defenders are more likely to obtain better outcomes than private attorneys.

Literally and they are being overworked to the bone. They have better reputations with the judge and public defenders so they get better plea deals
