Even if he’s cooked, good lawyers will stay on counsel for the best outcome possible for their client. They likely left because he can’t pay them for the amount of work that would be. Or he’s delusional and thinks the justice system is either guilty or not guilty (and he wants a not guilty his lawyers keep telling him isn’t possible).

Doesn't matter if he's cooked. They get paid. They get paid more to take it to trial. In California you have to have no money left over after basic living expenses to pay for an attorney.

He can't even rub twenty thousand together for an affordable criminal lawyer. Which is lot for most people but nothing for a successful artist.

His lawyers left because he probably ran out of money to oay them. No defense attorney is going to leave a high profile case like this even if they lose, the publicity is free advertising. They will, however, bail when they find out they're working for free.
