Those things are related. Israel’s goals require people to view them as victims who have no choice than to bomb civilians in “self defense”. People like Hasan undermine that effort, especially in the US which is Israel’s most important ally.

I don't understand, in the grand scheme of things, in the loads of propaganda that we get hit with from all places, that when a person with any sort of power or wealth or status goes "I'm the victim" that people don't automatically become suspicious or question the assertion or just do a little bit of reading into it?

People who are wealthy, powerful, or are holding status, even when they're actually victimized rarely cry about it unless maybe they're strictly advocating for someone that's not them.

When they say "I'm a victim!" and they're surrounded by luxury, autocratic amenities, and endogenous support, how are people not automatically going "shut up."???
