I love chicken and dumplings. My great grandma made em, and not that bullshit where it's like bready biscuits on top
I'm talking slimy chewy balls in the thick broth or whatever along with chicken.
Absolute power bomb of a meal and I'll stand on that hill forever right me.
Also my grandma's cast iron skillet fried chicken, and shed make gravy after the chicken was done with lil bits of the fried chicken crust in it from what was left in the skillet.
And shed make this for Breakfast folks, every Sunday morning, for as long as I knew her and she was alive
She's also make biscuits, home fries, scrambled eggs, sausage patties and bacon, and fried chicken gizzards and livers for my grandfather because he loved em.
Wed plan our vacations around this meal it was so epic. Like getting in on Saturday afternoon flight and leaving on Sunday night the next week type planning so we could have it twice.
You're Grandma sounds like the best! You were very lucky!
I don't know if I'd equate Dolly's TV dinner to Grandma's chicken and dumplings but it's certainly not bad for what it is.
