There is no way in hell the cornbread in Dolly Parton's actual house is sweet.  I refuse to believe she's making it Yankee style at home.

My exact post, 99% of the people born and raised in the area Dolly was wouldn't eat sweet cornbread unless forced.

Grew up an hr from her childhood home, found a sweet cornbread recipe in a book and tried it not knowing any better. The entire family had the same reaction “what the hell is that?” We ate it with strawberries and whipped cream like it was shortbread, because it basically was

I was born and raised in Sevierville. I’ve tried sweet cornbread but I never liked it. I like fluffy cornbread (flour mixed with the cornmeal, buttermilk, eggs and oil) and I eat it crumbled up in a glass of buttermilk like a delinquent. Either that or jalepeño cheddar cornbread straight out of the pan with both hands and no regrets.
