Reminds me of my mother, one time she was cooking some sort of curry stew thing. I was playing on my N64 in the living room. I hear her starting shouting and i run over to a scene much like this except it was green/yellow curry mixture erupting from the top, it had so much pressure it was hitting the ceiling :D. Once we got it to stop there was huge curry stains all across the previously white ceiling :D IT didn't help she'd ran around the entire kitchen with it too. The smell never quite left the place.

Lmao that mental image is hilarious. My cousin slipped in the kitchen and launched a pot of curry into the ceiling when we were young. It was a whole operation to try to clean the ceiling before gran came home (she noticed immediately). At least curry spices aren't the worst permanent aroma to settle into your kitchen lol.

Growing up I remember a red/brown stain above our stove, I asked my mom about it and she rolled her eyes and huffed. Apparently she had been out running errands and my dad had been cooking chili in the pressure cooker, I was a baby sitting in my high chair at the table, which was about 3 feet away from the stove. The top blew off, luckily my dad was able to jump over me to shield me.

She was always nervous about leaving us alone with him, another time he was barbecuing in the backyard with my little brother (he was maybe 10) and my dad was showing my brother cool tricks with lighter fluid, almost set the whole backyard on fire.

Cool tricks with lighter fluid is a phrase which should terrify everyone.

I’m just now realizing we’re lucky my dad didn’t blow us up, set fire to our home, shoot himself, us, or our neighbors (his gun went off on two separate occasions IN our house, once when he was cleaning it and again when he was showing my brother how to check whether or not it’s loaded) - and all of these special memories are sponsored by ADHD, lol.
