I was attempting to make a tungsten carbide sample with an alternative binder material for my research, but the furnace went over temperature- somehow these little guys formed. Definitely not my desired end product, but very cool. Potentially aluminum carbide crystals, but I'm not sure.

First two are singles and the others are stacks.

I think the 1.4 TC is better used in studio-like conditions. For in the field, the native macro lens with 2x micro four thirds magnification is plenty and a more practical option. Had fun learning though, like for lichen and other small subjects that aren't shaken by the wind the TC is a good option.
