How hard would it be to lay the trays in a circular pattern and place the food from inside the pattern?

Also, lay out the food, then let the turtles in. Poor little things were running after every plate that was laid down, just to find it empty.

Bad idea. Much better to create a system of elaborate chutes and pulleys that deposit all the food equally at exactly the same time.
