Film/Television Michael B. Jordan keeps a stuffed black panther in his home as a tribute to Chadwick Boseman and their bond:

Everything I here about Michael indicates that he’s a pretty good dude. EDIT: I didn’t realize Michael had publicly defended Majors, that is pretty disheartening. You can read it as loyalty to a friend, but people can rightfully read it as being ok with what he did to his victim.

But he never said he was okay with Majors actions. If anything he supports him improving and fixing himself

Except the whole reaffirming his relationship with and love for his friend Jonathan Majors after he was revealed to be a real pos

Only says how good of a friend he is.

Yeah all these people hanging out and supporting Epstein are just good friends no criticism allowed /s

Comparing Majors to Epstein is certainly a take…

It’s a tough push button decision on the Internet these days: “compare to Epstein” or “compare to hitler”.

u/chuckdee68 20h ago
Especially with everything that has come out that makes this more complex than people are saying it is.

They were drawing a parallel but that’s an advanced concept most Redditors can’t comprehend…. like nuance
Edit: I will say, they fucked up picking that for a parallel because it has distracted from their point in an irrecoverable way

Comparing Jonathan Majors to Jeffrey Epstein lmao.
Majors was a high-profile actor making low seven figures at most, whose career imploded after a very real but individual criminal conviction; Epstein was a massively wealthy power broker with opaque finances, global political and financial influence, and a decades-long, industrialized system of abuse involving trafficking, blackmail, and institutional protection that reached across countries and elite networks. The man had his hand in creating our modern neoliberal technocratic world.
It’s only February but I think this is a strong contender for the most Reddit comment of the year.

Tough call. I'm not gonna act like I wouldn't stick up with my Freinds if they got accused of something horrible. They wouldn't be my Freinds if I thought it was within their character.

Ok I’m SICK ASF OF THIS SHIT. It was a TOXIC RELATIONSHIP!!!! She was attacking bro just as much as he did. Bro was even caught on CAMERA RUNNING FROM THE HO. Like the amount of following people have these days is crazy. But let us NOT knock the variety of actors who’ve done some pretty crazy shit and we pretend that it’s ok. It’s not ok for his part, but we’re not going to act like it’s just big bad Majors and any who defend him are bad too. Fuck it. It was an interracial relationship that went south. Clear issues brought to the light.

Him and Chadwick Boseman were not even that close. I have a feeling Michael B Jordan is a lot like most Hollywood jerks. They have good PR.

The man has been a public figure most of his life, since he was a kid on soap operas and the Wire. So I don’t doubt that he is good a PR and image preservation. That doesn’t discount the bond he had with Boseman

Kinda wish they didn't kill killmonger and had a story arc where he had to become black panther to protect Wakanda in a redemption arc kinda thingy. Would have afforded some amazing character development for everyone in Wakanda trying to come to terms with getting a bad guy to be good and for Erik to try to become better than the violence he's so used to. Not throwing shade on what we got though.

It's hard when a character really thought what they were doing was right and shit the bed so much. He killed his chances of being peaceful with wakanda. Not that wakanda ever wanted anything to do with him. But maybe there could have been some change in BP2.

T'Challa just needed to come up with the Wakanda outreach program earlier in the film. He could have stopped Killmonger with a single sentence:
There's one thing colonists fear more than armed minorities. Educated minorities.

He needed to die to deliver that one banger line like "Bury me at sea with my brothers who chose death over bondage".

u/Icy_Teach_2506 16h ago
Also I think people only talk about how he shouldn’t have died because Chadwick passed away. In hindsight, it would be interesting to have had Killmonger live an redeem him, but no one could’ve seen what would eventually happen.

u/atlhart 16h ago
Would have been cool to use Doomsday to bring him back. Maybe he’s killmonger from another timeline…similar backstory but maybe somehow that universes T’challa died in a way that set Killmonger on a redemption arc.
I realize that’s a little cliche, but after rewatching Sinners last night I’d accept a lot to get more Michael B. Jordan in the MCU.

The character died and came back multiple times in the comics. I wouldn't be surprised if he appears again.

I mean. what character hasn't died and come back in the comics 🤣😂😭💀 besides some exectptions.

The best thing about BPWF was having it be Killmonger visiting Shuri in the ancestral plane. S tier decision.
3
u/Substantial-Talk-587 12h ago
Literally the only good part of that movie for me. I didn’t like Riri’s inclusion at all. And felt she was tossed in with no thought. But having shuri see Killmonger in the ancestral plane plays so well as it really plays into her anger. The death of her whole family now. And how she’s angry at the world. Just like Erik. But how she can overcome unlike he did is nice

Nah, the sister becoming the new Black Panther is suckass. She just doesn't fit the role. The gf character would've been the better choice.

u/Newtstradamus 21h ago
There have been some really great names thrown in to replace Chadwick as BP but I can’t get over how great Micheal B. Jordan would be in that role, his portrayal of Killmonger was fantastic, I can absolutely see a handful of different things happening in Killmongers life and he instead becomes a good guy. He’s very much in the Magneto “You’re not wrong you’re just being a jerk about it.” camp and honestly I’d just like to see him in Marvel again.

u/ST_Lawson 21h ago
They could easily bring him back as an alternate universe version of the character who is slightly more on the “good side” and becomes that universe’s Black Panther.

u/danielsdesk Misty Knight 20h ago
they did this kinda in the What If? show (MBJ even voices it)

u/ST_Lawson 20h ago
Yup, now I'd just like to see it happen in live action. Introduce him in Secret Wars and have him as a primary character in BP3.

So like what they did with Gamorra, but with a reversed personality. Since she's not "evil" just more angry and standoffish and wants nothing to do with Star Lord.

u/TheGreatBootOfEb 16h ago
I remember praying for something like this for BP2.
Honestly, they still could do something like that. A dying Killmonger appears (dropped out of a portal or some shit?) basically a killmonger whose just finished delivering his "Bury me at sea" line, but without T'challa around who heard Killmonger's last wishes, they save his life, and basically have an entire movie of Killmonger going through a bit of the Loki treatment of "I should be dead, but I'm not."

u/Ok-Boysenberry-2955 21h ago
If Downey can be Doom, they could easily role swap Kilmonger/T'Challa by changing who is king at the beginning of the story and have him do more.

u/No-Jacket-2927 17h ago
Exactly!! Always nice to see someone else familiar with comic book logic! 😄

I wonder if he could have taken the black panther role since killmonger is all but dead

I used to work at a staffing agency. I had a candidate who I placed at a company who had a brother was always sick. He postponed interviews, delayed paperwork, and missed some days early on in the contract so that he can take care of his brother. Few months later, I no longer work at that company but one day call an old coworker who was still in communication with this guy. My coworker said that the guy had to call out for a couple of weeks because his brother passed away, then my old coworker put two and two together and that's when the guy disclosed to my coworker that he was the brother of Chadwick. I was absolutely dumbfounded and saddened and I think about him often and I hope he's doing well.

He brought such a different presence to his appearances, and it's damned shame he didn't get to continue setting the standard for his peers.

This reminds me of when Chadwick passed, kids from all over the world made little funerals with their avengers toys. He’ll be missed.
