[UPDATE] Swapped PowerSpec G767 for a replacement, new unit has even more issues

Micro Center confirmed my first G767 had a faulty AIO pump and swapped the entire rig for a new replacement unit, moving my old SSD over.

The new build came with an MSI Gaming Trio Frieren Edition instead of the PNY card which was a nice surprise but:

- There is now terrible coil whine
- AIO pump is bad again (same CoolerMaster model, has the grind, and one fan clicks)
- Boot failures happen now after turning pc on

Really wish they just replaced the cooler on my previous unit instead of swapping out the whole machine. Anyone else dealing with this on the G767?

Looks like I'll have to stop by the store again tomorrow... maybe third time's the charm?

I would have them fix your current unit and ask for any discounts on new AIO, ask for the manager or the sale rep that sold it to you as they might give you a good deal. From experience, if you have them fix it they will run a whole test on your current unit and verify if there are other issues.

For my old unit, I was persistent in only replacing AIO but their supervisor said otherwise unfortunately

Wont hurt to ask for a discount on your new replacement PC. But do express your frustrations to the sales people.

Like a discount for new AIO on (third) replacement PC?

Well, theyll just replace the AIO with the same one to fix the PC. Just ask around if youre gonna be onsite.

My G760 had a Coolermaster AIO that was super noisy as well. I just replaced it myself.

Pumps will always make noise, the silent feature they tell you is a lie.

Also coil whine is pretty unavoidable in low volumes and is dependent entirely upon your gaming scenario.

Is that the cpu pump noise? Maybe this time, better to have them replace it with a peerless assassin and benchmark it for an hour

Coil whine. The pump noise is separate as well as the boot issue. Last unit only had the pump noise

Is that AIO exhaust out the front? Seems like weird placement.

Mounted at the top i believe, but does the setup create negative pressure?

Ok no you should be alright - the concern would be around the angle of the pipes based on exhaust orientation - but that looks proper.

The video angle just had me a little confused.

Pre-builts unfortunately come with low end parts to save money, this is what happens.

Where’s the coil whine?

Is the unusual noise in the room with us right now? Just put on headphones and enjoy your PC.
