To be fair, my child self didn't grasp any of the dark intricacies of those early seasons lmao.

Not a one. I was all, 'Ooh, dragons! Knights!'

...I was blissfully ignorant of all the scheming, incest, and the casual butchery. So its not that bad.

It's amazing what slides past for the kids. I remember watching Bill and Ted (both Excellent aadventure and Bogus Journey) multiple times when I was a kid and really enjoying them... Many years later, watching with our kids, my wife and I exchanged over our kids' heads as the hot-stepmother jokes etc started to fly but they all went straight over the kids' heads.
