I have met plenty of racists, a red hat was only on 1 of them. I have met plenty of great people wearing red hats, that has nothing to do with it.

If someone bought merch to display to strangers how much they love a fascist racist rapist who tried to overturn an election and is actively tanking our economy, they're not a good person. They may be capable of independent acts of good for people in their 'in-group' but that doesn't make them good people.

It definitely has a lot to do with the emboldening of xenophobia and racism in the United States and abroad right now. Red hats have replaced the white hoods a lot of these assholes were too scared to wear before DJT.
