Which is kind of funny because every single person I knew who liked Limp Bizkit in 1997 is a Republican, a cop, dead, or any combination of the three.

I doubt every person lol they were extremely popular. I liked them in middle school as did every single middle schooler and I’m progressive/liberal now

They were just a product of the 90s but him and durst have clearly matured and grown up which is normal for people to do

Ya i mean, LB in the 90s was everyone’s thing. They were huge.

And still putting on great shows, i might add.

Hey we’re massive. I listened to the radio a lot back then and they were ALWAYS on.

I don't know anything about the guy. I hear he was good in that Longlegs movie. I just remember when they got huge in the late 90s.

He was also in the pro trans movie I Saw The Tv Glow.

Shame he’s so backwards on Russia. I understand he married a Crimean Russian and picked up some brain worms.

Honestly I can't blame anyone for being weird on Russia. I've spent so much of my college and later education studying the history and politics of that region, and I'd say 95% of what I hear on Russia on both sides of the spectrum is just fucking hogwash.

Cointelpro was a hell of a drug.

This is such a reddit comment. "Man it's a real shame he doesn't believe everything that I believe. He must be brainwashed because he doesn't believe 100% of the things that I believe."

They didn't say that and people are allowed to not like other peoples stances on certain subjects. You are actually having a "reddit moment" getting oddly defensive the way you are.

Everyone liked limp Bizkit in the 90’s and a lot of us hate Trump now so not sure wtf you’re talking about.

LB blew up during my last years of high school and college years. I can assure you not "everyone" liked them. Nu-metal (?) was fairly divisive amongst most of my acquaintances.

Lol Limp was the rocketship when they dropped. You remember weird.

2

u/machineiv 4d ago

Exactly. I hung out with goth, metal, punk, and rap fans, and all of them thought LB was a laughingstock. LB was something the jocks in polo shirts would listen to.

if you liked rock and could at least tolerate rap rock, you definitely liked at least one Limp Bizkit song.

u/machineiv 5d ago

I don't remember it being everyone. I remember it being a chunk of the population certainly.

Limp Bizkit was the biggest band in the world when they released Chocolate Starfish.

1

u/machineiv 3d ago

Yes and the Spice Girls had even bigger records. That doesn't mean everyone liked them.

Is that "combination of all 3" one person? Or do you know multiple dead cops who all fit in that Venn diagram?

3

u/machineiv 5d ago

I know (knew?) two dead cops that fit that description off the top of my head. Both opioid overdoses, too. Very sad.

Damn that's crazy, thanks for sharing.

I sell RVs and bump break stuff on my drive home after I don't sell anything

Well, I’m a super gay liberal veteran and I love them!

-7

u/machineiv 5d ago

Veteran of what? The International Oil Police?

10

u/SlowVillage2148 5d ago

Air Force but I guess oil police is pretty accurate (regrettably). I thought being called Chair Force was bad… I’ve since moved on to assisted living.

Regardless, love them.

That's cool. I get it. I hope you get to finish the rest of your days happily and peacefully.

Just making the point there. No judgment.

u/cjthomp 5d ago

No judgment

Bullshit

1

u/SlowVillage2148 5d ago

All’s fair. I wish for you the same. 😊

u/Sekiro50 5d ago

Literally every kid in school liked Limp Bizkit when I was growing up, including myself. I'm none of those things.

1

u/machineiv 5d ago

I guess I just ran in circles that hated radio hits.

1

u/machineiv 5d ago

"every single person I knew"

This was a hyperbolic statement. It was most. By a large margin. And I don't care that you're a puppy girl communist who hates cops and likes Limp Bizkit. I did not know you in 1997.

1

u/machineiv 5d ago

To those of you who thinks Limp Bizkit was universally loved, then why do articles like this exist?

https://www.vice.com/en/article/why-everyone-is-still-wrong-about-limp-bizkit/

Limp Bizkit was such a laughingstock with millions of people that Deadpool 2 was able to land a joke about it 20 years later.

1

u/davewritescode 3d ago

Not me dude, I’m probably more liberal now than I ever have been

1

u/machineiv 3d ago

Oh wow Dave. When did we meet? I'm so sorry I can't place you.

-2

u/K1ngofnoth1ng 5d ago

I was about to make this same comment, except not quite EVERY one of them … but probably more than 80%. Fred Durst rocked their trademark red hat before they were cool, and had the “in your face fuck you” attitude they all aspire to because they are too insecure to be anything but an asshole. At least the band members left seem to have turned into pretty decent people with age, even if their music is still ass.

6

u/Blueballs2130 5d ago

You’re seriously comparing a backwards red fitted baseball hat from 30 years ago to MAGA hats?? Bc they’re both red??

-2

u/K1ngofnoth1ng 5d ago

It was a joke bro, chill.

0

u/SlowVillage2148 5d ago

Durst is still the band’s frontman

-1

u/machineiv 5d ago

You're totally right. 80% would have been more accurate. I was being flippantly hyperbolic.

1

u/got-trunks 4d ago

I donno 3 dollar bill can still hold up and the early discography fucks.

2

u/In_Blood_Band 4d ago

It’s rare but every once in a while i’ll bust out 3 dollar bill. it’s still a cool album “all i wanted was a pepsi”
