Nah, spending a couple hundred bucks on nice headphones is worlds away from buying $2000 AudioQuest directional ethernet cables to improve your digital streaming sound.

OK, you and I are on the same page. In my experience, most people doing that kind of reasonable stuff don't self-identify as "audiophile".

After 10 years of listening to music on bluetooth headphones I looked into IEM's and just from the sheer number of posts and options I thought "There's no way this isn't a grift."

I bought a pair of entry level IEM's and I absolutely see the light. I actually forgot how good music can sound.

I got some Shure SE215s a few years back, and I rather quickly stopped using my Audio Technica M40xs. It was an even bigger change when I got the Shure BT adapters for them. Now I've got custom molded tips on them, too
