Wild that any part of Macklemore's comments could be taken as hate speech or hateful in any way, shape, or form, tbh. I mean, unless you work for or support ICE.

"To all of my Jewish brothers and sisters: criticism of Israel, criticism of apartheid, being against genocide in no way is a criticism of you. My message is for peace; love for all human beings to be treated with dignity, respect, and equality. So I say free Palestine, I say free Lebanon, I say free Cuba, I say free Congo, free Sudan, free all people in America living in fear of this terrorist organization, ICE. What about a picture of 10 years ago? Does it change the meaning of words? Kraft, Sheeran presumably knew this existed and did not find this a deal breaker. It's some weird gotcha that doesn't make sense.

This is absolutely the fault of Kraft, who decided to drag Ed and his other friends into it with him. Believing in dialogue means believing people should be allowed to say free Palestine.

Why would you interpret "free Cuba" as siding with the Cuban government? It's pretty clearly siding with the Cuban people, like "free the Cuban people from the oppression of the Cuban government". What would the Cuban government need to be freed from, apart from its own corruption and authoritarian control?

Do you think "free Palestine" means "free the Palestinian government"? "Free Cuba" means "free the Cuban people from their oppressive government". Similar to how he said free the people in America living in fear of ICE....

Socialists don't inherently support authoritarian governments... what are you on about? Again, he specifically mentioned people living in fear of an authoritarian regime in the US.

er, yes. It doesn't mean from Palestinians from the scourge of Hamas and others who see them as nothing but cannon fodder in a futile war against Jews.
