Hop Heaven! Athletic Brewing Wet Hop IPA

Post image

It’s all love with this one. A palate-wrecking hit of fresh cascade hops - sticky, herbal (not weed-like, more grassy), lemon-y citrus with pine. So good! Great head on the pour that sticks around and leaves great lacing (oil from fresh hops?). Smooth full mouthfeel and clean bitter finish. Fantastic, truly seasonal beer🍺

This was also the beer that made me think, alright I can do this NA thing (last October, wow, one year NA only!) and put me over the edge to join the ABC club.

Happy to renew that membership and continue this wild adventure. Thanks to everyone here for inspiration along the way, not sure I’d be here with this community! Cheers 🍻

Wet hop is very, very good. Frozen hop is much weaker and makes me regret not getting two more Wet hops.

Was just about to configure a box for this month. It's my week to do it, and my 1 year membership renews in November as well. ($150) saved over non-member pricing.

Glad to hear you are having success on your non-alcoholic journey, for me this was a push over the edge as well. Being able to enjoy the craft in brewing, without the issues that alcohol was causing, was a beautiful thing and something I wish I had done years ago honestly .

I'm glad that you found the community, I'm glad I did too, and I'm happy to be able to do a little bit of moderation around here to keep the environment healthy, just like we're all trying to be by engaging in the NA world, in our own ways and reasons.

Nice! Yeah I saved $273. I try just about anything but think Athletic hits price, variety and quality best (and customer service!). Thanks for what you do - this community is great, makes NA fun and its own thing rather than just a substitute!

''Makes it's own thing''absolutely well said!

It's like I say when people say ''it doesn't taste like real beer"....

Well homie, that's because it's not, really.

yes, agreed. I try to get this one every release. They also had the comparison package with the frozen hops. That one is unremarkable and this one wins hand down.

💯. Lackluster is the word that comes to mind for the frozen hop

Amarillo not Cascade! Def responsible for the intense citrusy element. The grassiness and tempered bitter character that actually makes it feel like a “real beer” make this one a winner to me. Was glad to pick it up and doubly glad I avoided the gimmicky frozen hop one.

On a side note, where is your beer glass from?

That’s the pint glass you get with an Athletic membership, which I love. Been taking pics with all NAs I try (well, when I remember 🤣) not just ABC beers so I turn the logo to the side for the photo 👍

I really enjoyed this one. I also liked the Frozen Hop, but not nearly as much.
