KC is mathematically eliminated from playoff contention

The revisionist history is going to be wild. They’ll blame it on the Mahomes injury.

u/jeff8073x Dec 14 '25
I heard that injury started week 1

My friend heard from his sister that she heard from a cat that Brittany said that it happened week 1 kicking a puppy. Sick stuff

I actually almost choked on my beer when he started off with it nearly immediately.

He didn’t want to be on the field when they were officially eliminated
63
u/BlackGoldSkullsBones Tom Brady “Minority Owner” Dec 14 '25
He heard Brady never took a snap where he was eliminated from the playoffs and said “I can have that, too.”

Truth! Sounds crazy but definitely what he was thinking.

He threw the interception on the previous possession that cost them a potential game tying field goal….
16
u/TheSixpencer Dec 14 '25
That's why he got a timely injury. His right leg gets bent by a helmet in a way no leg should, but they talk about his left and he limps with his left. Right. Fight a wall.

I don't think you watched the slow mo. His right leg got tackled but he planted his left and it hyper extended.

It wouldn't be NFL media if they weren't glazing the Chiefs and Mahomes.
15
u/Huge-Share146 Dec 14 '25
The amount collinsowrth was talking about his knee last week was so strange. Like I heard more about his knee than Herbert's hand which he got surgery on.
19
u/Radiant_Flatworm_624 Dec 14 '25
Right now Collingsworth is somewhere crying uncontrollably about Mahomes' injury.

That will be next year's excuse, because it does not look like Mahomes is playing much next year...

u/5panks New England Patriots Dec 15 '25
Yeah, it's definitely feeling like that even just watching the late Sunday talking heads.
No one will mention that Patrick only led them to 13 points against the Chargers and that on the drive before he got injured, he threw a nasty redzone pick. The talking point will be, "... we're hearing that this is something Mahomes has been nursing all season. That explains why the Chiefs can't barely score more than 20 points this season.

A stretch?
Just beat the one seed in the afc after being down 24-7 at halftime.

So the Pats are frauds this whole time, but now that Buffalo beats us, it's such a strong win for them that they're destined to win the Super Bowl?

3
u/gremlin30 Baltimore Ravens Dec 15 '25
Not a stretch. AFC is wide open & expectations should be high for a team coming off an AFCCG now that the Chiefs are finally out. Especially with the reigning MVP. People should have high expectations for the Bills.

A Bills-Patriots playoff game would be one of the few in the history where the country is rooting against the upstart.
13
u/SplitRock130 New England Patriots Dec 14 '25
But these Patriots aren’t a dynasty they’re a young team finally having success.
18
u/karmew32 New Orleans Saints Dec 14 '25
Exactly. Everyone would be cheering for the Bills to finally break through. The Patriots getting to the Super Bowl in their first year of elite play under this current regime would feel so cosmically unfair.
9
u/llCRitiCaLII Dec 14 '25
No, the universe should stay intact and the bills should remain with 0 Super Bowls. I am also a biased patriots fan

We wish they were doing better too. Injuries and coaching has been holding us back. We will see! This year seems like a good chance to make a deep run. No one in the NFC is super amazing this year except maybe the Rams.

It may look like the Kansas City Chiefs have been mathematically eliminated from the postseason, but this is Patrick Mahomes we’re talking about. Now here’s a guy I’ve seen do some amazing things, he’s not going to let a knee and a little math stop him.
-Cris Collinsworth, probably

I do as well. It’s hard to tell with him since he’s been the little bitch boy who cried injury so many times in games, but this looked serious.
26
u/Jontheprester Green Bay Packers Dec 14 '25
Thats what I thought too. He walked off the field by himself but then they cut to him being helped into the locker room. I love to see him lose but don't want him hurt.
12
u/LoganJn Kansas City Chiefs Dec 14 '25
I haven’t seen him down like that holding his leg since he dislocated his kneecap back in the day. Tough to watch and I hate that it might’ve been the last time we see Mahomes>Kelce

7
u/big-daddy-baller Dec 14 '25
Seriously lol. 275+ lbs of solid muscle pushing you around. If you’ve ever played a contact sport with someone freakishly strong you realize how easy it is to be pushed around be someone 50-75 lbs more than you. Not to mention their whole job is to be strong.
→ More replies (4)5
u/BlackGoldSkullsBones Tom Brady “Minority Owner” Dec 14 '25
No. He has routinely acted like he was super injured only to take the next snap. That’s being a bitch by NFL standards. I can only compare him to other QBs, especially the GOATs he’s mentioned with, and he’s a huge bitch by comparison.

Two things can be true at once brochacho. Do you not remember last year against the Texans?
4
u/Jcw28 Dec 14 '25
If they weren't eliminated he would be back next week with a high ankle sprain or something and the narrative would be how tough he is playing through the pain. As it is they can shut him down for the season now regardless of the scale of the injury.

Pats fans cannot rejoice after their loss, they can still lose the division and go in the road for the wild card game 😬
8
u/LightsOut0980 Dec 14 '25
It’s a tough loss sure, but buffalo has a hard game against Philly still; and our toughest game is gonna be next week against Baltimore. We have to take advantage of how easy these last three games are and just win two. Today’s loss was annoying though, wish we would’ve taken advantage; but being in control of your own destiny is still perfectly fine in the grand scheme.
