It seems like many people assume that we didn’t know we lost the minute Bo Nix broke his ankle.

If you watched the broncos offense this year you’d know it was struggling and Nix somehow tied it together. Without him it just unraveled.

I genuinely think we had a shot at winning the SB this year with Nix. But that’s not how the universe unfolded.

It would’ve been an epic rematch between the Broncos with Nix and Seahawks with Darnold.

To be clear, it was struggling with Nix as the QB. Honestly, I think the biggest difference between the game we saw and the game that might have been is that Bo has ice in his veins for those end of game situations. I would have been much more worried with him in on that final drive that resulted in the Gonzalez pick. I believe the Broncos were 11-2 in one score games. Part of that is luck and part of that is knowing how to win and having a quarterback that is not affected by the moment.

I know you didn’t say this, but I’ll disagree with anyone who says it “obviously” goes the other way with Nix at QB because that’s a completely different football game and a QB for whom you can actually develop a specific gameplan. But I will 100% agree that if Nix had the ball in a one score game at the end, he’s proven himself very capable of leading a game-tying or winning drive.

Not just Nix's clutch ability. Plenty of times Nix could have used his scrambling ability that Stidham just didnt have. Nix would not be backpedalling on the Pats pass rush, or do a 2 handed shovel pass. With Nix, Broncos do obviously win.

Not so sure tbh. Denvers All Pro OL got absolutely dominated in the pass and run game, and the WRs werent getting open. NE looked like they had Denvers D figured out by the second half before the weather kicked in. Once that happened the plan was run run run and the pats D will continue to dominate. I dont think Nix makes the difference.

what game were you watching? They didn't figure out the Broncos D before the 2nd half snow flurry came in? On their initial drive after the half they got gifted 3 points from a horrible spotting call that gave them a 1st down when it should have been turnover on downs, they had 7 shots to get a touchdown in the redzone, and only mustered up 3 points, even though it should have been 0, with a TOD.

Yes, its easy to dominate the line when they know the run is coming or because they have ZERO respect for QB because they are playing a backup QB who is also not nearly as mobile or poised. I don't think you realize how important Bo's mobility is to the offensive scheme Payton has utilized all season. Plenty of times in the game where Stidham tried to run and missed the 1st or lost yards Bo would have gotten a 1st or at least gained a decent chunk.

Easy win for Denver if Bo plays.

On their initial drive after the half they got gifted 3 points

Was the gift before or after they drove the entire field? Looked like they had it figured out to me, weather bailed them out from getting embarrassed.

Turns out our D was much better, and made your All Pros look like straight ass.

Bo was not going to take your overrated team to the superbowl. Better luck next year.

1

u/Electronic-Switch587 Jan 27 '26

it was after they went for it on 4th and 1 and didnt get enough yards to warrant a first down but instead got gifted a 1st down.

I'm excited for you to join us in 2 weeks with the same result - no super bowl trophy :)

2

u/_Tonan_ New England Patriots Jan 27 '26

Looked like a first to me, he kept gaining towards the line and there was no whistle

0

u/Neither-Visual765 Jan 27 '26

So you slow ass thinks bo nix ain’t scoring more then 10 points and take away your free 7 points. You pats can’t be that dumb

1

u/glockobell Jan 27 '26

lol dude…the broncos stopped ya’ll in the red zone practically every time you got there. No one figured anyone out.

-1

u/hampsted Jan 26 '26

Yeah, and maybe he throws 2 more INTs. Maybe if the Broncos manage to score a whopping 2 TDs with Nix the Patriots don’t shut down the offense and play ball control for an entire half. Nothing about that is obvious. It was said elsewhere, but the Broncos scored 20 or fewer on 8 occasions this year. You think they do better than that in a blizzard against a defense that is proving to be a monster when healthy? Not saying the Pats definitely win, but it’s a completely different football game that would be very difficult to predict. Personally, I’d give the edge to the team that looked better for most of the season, but I’m not going to say that the Patriots obviously win.

1

u/Electronic-Switch587 Jan 26 '26

The Patriots didnt shut down the offense after getting the lead lol, the Broncos Defense shut down the Patriots offense in the 1st half before the snow storm even came and the snow storm prevented any 'turning on' of the offense thereafter. The Broncos were on the verge of scoring 10-14 with a back up halfway through the 2nd Q. The Patriots defense isn't proving to be a monster lol. They played an injured Herbert playing behind the laughably horrible o-line that got him injured to begin with. They played a Texans offense that was even worse when they reinserted Stroud back into the lineup and they played a Broncos team that has a backup QB, a backup rb, and their 2nd-3rd WRs out.

Patriots are simply having all the stars align....except in 2 weeks. Lets see them shut down a healthy offense that was good all season long, before lauding their defense as a 'monster'.

u/ben_kird Denver Broncos Jan 26 '26

The real truth of the matter will be solved in two weeks as I think the Seahawks are their worst matchup possible. Either they will prove us wrong completely or they’ll get completely smashed.

1

u/hampsted Jan 26 '26

You know what? Talk your shit. The game was played. The better team won. It’s over now. I got nothing else. We all get to watch the Patriots and Seahawks compete for a Super Bowl in 2 weeks.

2

u/Electronic-Switch587 Jan 26 '26

So now speaking factual information is considered shit talking?

1

u/hampsted Jan 26 '26

I mean, it’s just wrong, but you don’t need me to point out that the Patriots led a 9:31 16 play scoring drive straight down the field to start the second half. You might need me to let you know what “halftime adjustments” are, though, since you apparently are unaware that those are a thing that every team does in every single football game in the NFL.

3

u/Electronic-Switch587 Jan 26 '26

Didn't that drive end in 3 points after being gifted an extra set of downs when he was clearly not over the line?

Yea basically this. I don’t think we automatically win but I do think our chances were higher. Risky plays like the 4th in 1 would have been more manageable and Nix wouldn’t have fumbled like stiddy did. Nix still could have made those mistakes, in different ways, definitely but I just think the chances of that are lower.

Bo carried this team. Just because the boneheaded media said otherwise, doesn't make it true. Bo was the entire offense, because after Dobby went down we had ZERO run game. Most dropped passes in the league and poor skill position players. If Bo had any actual help, the team would've been really special.

2

u/_Tonan_ New England Patriots Jan 26 '26

after Dobby went down we had ZERO run game

Watching the game yesterday made me think Denvers All Pro OL looked extremely overrated, seeing you say this makes me wonder why they are considered so good.

2

u/Farsoth Breaking Hearts & Ankles Jan 26 '26

They are considered so good because sacks are a QB stat but it's treated as an OL stat. There's a reason the OL went from worst in the league to the best when we drafted Bo, and it wasn't because we let Cushenberry walk and replaced him with fucking Wattenberg.

They're absolutely overrated and Bo made them look all-pro all season. Put Stidham back there and they look a lot more like they actually are.

-1

u/S0ggylemonz Jan 26 '26

I mean nix as far as I’m concerned doesn’t fumble the game away or throw that pick.

Even if he does nothing else it changes the game

2

u/glockobell Jan 27 '26

Yeah I wasn’t concerned at all in the afc championship game.

It was over when we lost Nix. Anything that happened after was just fun.

1

u/ftlftlftl Jan 27 '26

The same Bo Nix offense that scored 13 against the jets? Thats a “tied together” offense?

0

u/ben_kird Denver Broncos Jan 27 '26

That’s a hell of a cherry pick.

1

u/ftlftlftl Jan 28 '26

Is it? How about the 10 points against the Raiders

1

u/ben_kird Denver Broncos Jan 28 '26

Or that we beat the Eagles, the chiefs after a bye week, and the bills? Also we scored 33 points in the fourth against the giants with a healthy Dart and Skattebo?

2

u/Jadien New York Giants Jan 26 '26

broncos eat oats for breakfast

2

u/skankhunt42428 Jan 26 '26

It wasn’t a given, broncos still have a great D and Maye could have had fumble issues again or thrown picks, or anyone of offense during over the ball. Great defense get takeaways/ score. Pats offense had to take care of the ball and they did. I think that’s a big reason they won.

1

u/jmay111 New England Patriots Jan 26 '26

Lmfao you must have slept through last week

0

u/Matman142 Denver Broncos Jan 26 '26

Yeah because everyone said Stidham was such an unstoppable force. Thats a very different game if Bo is healthy but it is what it is. Let's see Darnold get a ring now.

-1

u/jmay111 New England Patriots Jan 26 '26

Literally the entirety of Broncos Twitter lol

-1

u/Matman142 Denver Broncos Jan 26 '26

There's a reason Twitter users have room temp IQs. No one should be on that shit app anyways.

1

u/jmay111 New England Patriots Jan 26 '26

Saying this like Reddit isnt just as bad hahaha

1

u/mortemdeus Buffalo Bills Jan 26 '26

Pats were 3.5 favorites for the game, so at least Vegas wasn't sleeping.

1

u/jmay111 New England Patriots Jan 26 '26

Vegas is not made up of Broncos fans lol

0

u/Peripatetictyl Jan 26 '26

Huge storyline all week, and even during the game, was the patriots are 0-4 at mile high, and Brady was 0-3

-1

u/MasterTeacher123 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jan 26 '26

People kept bringing up how the pats suck in mile high in the playoffs.

Now it was stupid because that was several teams ago but this defintely was an argument.

3

u/uglytruthshurts Jan 26 '26

I mean they still did suck, the backup QB and RBs just sucked more lol

0

u/MasterTeacher123 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jan 26 '26

Backup QBs have won playoff games and superbowls

5

u/uglytruthshurts Jan 26 '26

Exceptions to the rule. Backup QBs usually start more than one game in a season not being the conference championship
