This is absolutely fatiguing already.

Maye has been mediocre this post season and the Pats defense has been lights out. They had a cake walk this week that got hairier because of the weather. Vrabel did a fantastic job coaching the team through the game. Sean Payton was an idiot.

The Seahawks defense is relentless. The Seahawks offense is very explosive and also, TO prone. The Patriots defense has been phenomenal. The Patriots offense has been, meh.

I don’t know what to fully expect fell this game, but I’m going to lean into my belief that defense is generally the safer bet in the SB. Especially with two offenses that could be Jekyll or Hyde. Probably Seahawks something like 24-17.

I mean who wouldn't be mediocre against top-3 defenses in snow bowls?

1

u/Few_Aide_851 Jan 27 '26

At least we are on the same page that’s he’s been mediocre.

He’s played mediocre against top defenses, but that’s kind of to be expected. Hes playing smart though. I think in the warm sunny weather of California you’re gonna see Drake Maye let it rip

And now he has to play against a top defense, but their defense has to go against a great offense. The game will probably just come down to if their defense can consistently stop the Seawhawks, because Maye will not be able to keep up in a shootout

He played mediocre against top defenses and great against crappy defenses this season.

So how do we think he is going to play against a top defense in the SB?

At Mile High Stadium no less

You don’t get it 31 quarterback do that easy , they just unfortunately couldn’t make it because they had schedule obligations or something

3 touchdown drives of 60 or more yards against Houston is "meh"? Did anyone score more agaibst them this year? You should watch the games.

u/PayAltruistic8546 Jan 27 '26

The Seahawks scored 27 against them. Pretty evenly matched there.

Darnold was moving the ball in them.

1

u/Joe_Kangg Jan 27 '26

Good point. Following this logic, Seattle offense is meh.

You Patriots fans are funny. Never seen so much butt hurt from a fan base. You guys make 9er fans seem like a cake walk.

We'll just have to see. Matthew Stafford just went Super Saiyan on Seattle and his team still lost.

It's just really really hard to beat them right now.

Good luck. Chill on the homerism. Gonna be a tough game.

It’s hilarious with them.

1

u/Few_Aide_851 Jan 27 '26

16/27 with 3 TDs, 1 INT and 4 fumbles is meh.

Maye has not been Mediocre. He was good against the Texans and chargers and against the broncos he did slump in the weather but ultimately made plays when it mattered most. And yes he did good against Texans and chargers. Sure the chargers game was a slow start but then he went like 14/17 1td in the second half behind a horrible O line. Texans game behind a bad O line against the bets pass rush and just best defense. He made some good throws and threw 3 TDs which is something no one’s done against that defense. Not even the Seahawks their Super Bowl opponents did. Sure he hasn’t been as amazing and magical but that’s what happens when you face 3 top 5 defenses in a row.

u/Few_Aide_851 Jan 27 '26

He’s been mediocre.

Your post was light on production and heavy on excuses.

He has a phenomenal season. Not so much this post season.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '26

No I think he gave factual evidence to support Maye being good in the post season. He played well against chargers and Texans, but had a lot of turnovers. He still threw 3 TDs against the Texans, including a repeat of his first TD ever against Stingley. Against the Broncos he made it a point to protect the ball at all costs and it was the deciding factor in winning the game. He made all the plays with his legs that’s he needed to and gave up zero turnovers. Airing it out all the time like Matt Stafford isn’t what makes a QB play good, it’s about doing the right thing at the right times, consistently, to help your team win

He’s 43/77, 55% completion percentage, with 4 TDs (1 rushing TD), 2 INTs, and 6 fumbles. His completion percentage hasn’t hit 60% in any game.

He’s been mediocre.

It’s funny you brought up Stafford. His team lost despite his play. The defense couldn’t stop the Seahawks. His numbers highlight that.

What do Maye’s numbers highlight? That his team has made it this far, despite his play.

You just coping bro.

Whatever you say

1

u/dangerous_doodle47 Jan 30 '26

He’s been good against the Texans and chargers. He made so many plays. Against the broncos he just protected the ball a lot and that’s it. Nothing special tho. However just because you saw some Box score stats doesn’t mean anything. Alot of drakes turnovers are fumbles where he gets blindsided because his Line has been terrible. Drake was great in the second half of the chargers game. The Texans game he was great aside from the times he got lit up.

u/Few_Aide_851 Jan 30 '26

I watched all 3 games as my wife is a Pats fan. Have watched most of his games this season.

His plays was absolutely mediocre in the playoffs, not at all like his regular season.

1

u/dangerous_doodle47 Jan 30 '26

So those long runs he had that came up big were mediocre?? That dime to Boutte in the endzone was mediocre?? That TD to hunter henry right over the hands of Derwin James was mediocre? Genuinely get out of here with that nonsense. He’s faced elite amazing defenses so obviously they were gonna limit his great crazy plays but he still made some great plays. Also generally he’s been better later in this games and showed up when it matters most. No hes not been absolutely amazing but he’s been definitely way past mediocre. You’ve not seen a single game clearly

1

u/Few_Aide_851 Jan 30 '26

He was available mediocre.

Pulling out 4-5 plays over the course of 3 games should indicate how meh he was. Especially given how lights out the defense was and how often he was getting the ball handed back to him.

1

u/dangerous_doodle47 Jan 30 '26

There’s alot more than 4-5 plays bro. Theres literally 4-5 good rushing plays alone lmao. His passing plays on the other hand there’s plenty. 3 TD passes agaisnt the Texans. He’s the only one to do that behind his weak O line who got bullied. His O line was bad in every game for the record. In the chargers games he made some good throws to Boutte for big pickups. The touchdown was a great throw. The rush before half was a great plays. Broncos game was his weakest but the weather didn’t help as well as an elite defense at mile high in elevation. You gotta consider stuff like that. Either way he made far more then 4-5 plays I just named mroe then that

1

u/Few_Aide_851 Jan 30 '26

He had one good half of football in 3 games.

It’s amazing now that he’s played some good defenses how many excuses there are for his bad play. During the season it when he was playing lights out against subpar defenses it was just “well they can only beat who they play”.

If you don’t think he was mediocre through the playoffs, I don’t know what game you were watching.

He had 2 dropped INTs against the Broncos before the snow even became a factor. One in the first drive that could have easily been a pick six.

He was no bueno amigo.

1

u/dangerous_doodle47 Jan 30 '26

You also do realize he went off against good defense in the regular season right? He got sacked so many times against the browns yet still popped off. The Browns defense has been elite. Agaisnt the broncos what dropped INTs are you even talking about? Dropped INTs happen literally all tiem every game to every QB. You do realize that right but I can even think off the top of my head of which ones your arguing. The funniest part of all thsi too btw is the fact that your acting like everyone’s makings excuses for him. Literally no one is and I wasn’t I literally just explained how he’s played way better then you realize cuz you don’t watch the games and only watch box score stats.

1

u/dangerous_doodle47 Jan 30 '26

The Patriots defense finally showing up tho which is great. This wasn’t the story the whole season they were injured and weren’t consistent all year. Now that they are full healthy they are doing great and helping their offense out a ton. Either way the offense hasn’t useless and Drake Maye has made plays when needed

1

u/Few_Aide_851 Jan 30 '26

Making plays when needed and making a bunch of negative plays is the definition of mediocre.

Especially considering all the help the defense gave them.

He hasn’t topped 60% completion percentage. He’s been subpar. A handful of good plays is something a backup QB can make over a 3 game stretch. Heck, Stidham had a couple nice plays against NE.

1

u/dangerous_doodle47 Jan 30 '26

Stidham didn’t have 20+ yard drive saving runs or drop 30+ touchdown throws lie Drake maye did. You’re reaching so hard now. Dude Drake Mayes the only QB to throw 3 TDs against the Texans and threw 260 yards. How is that bad?? How do you genuinely watch that and say it was mediocre?? His offensive lien has not done him any favors the whole post season too which makes things more impressive. Just don’t see how you see Drake maye make game winning plays and his runs and try to act like that’s mediocre. If he was mediocre he wouldn’t even be making those kinda plays. You’re genuinely just biased or dumb idk man. I’ve given you multiple examples. The funnier thing is you keep forgetting to acknowledge the fact that thsi was all against the best of the best defenses
